Going to six flags without riding the roller coasters is like going to the whorehouse without having sex.

I've been through enough discussions about which editor is the best, don't you people realize that each editor/engine has strengths and weaknesses and when you talk about your favorite editor, in 99% of all cases it comes down to the editor the person works most of his time with. Because the more time you spend with an editor, the more comfortable you feel with it and when you haven't even touched the other ones....you get the point.
I'm also wondering why you guys compare today's engines with the Unreal 3 engine? You won't be able to see it in any game before 2006, so it would make more sense to draw either the Unreal 2.5 engine or the next gen engines of the competitors for comparison (I know there is nothing to see from them yet, but be sure that they are in the works).

Yea your art looks very decent. Good luck with finding some designers and best regards to X-Convict

I'm also playing Republic Commando at the moment and I haven't had big expectations, but fuck, it's awesome.

Not bad for making something like that in flash

I hope both for GSC and THQ that the long development time will pay off in the end...before the graphics will be outdated

It's No. 4 in the British charts (behind the obligatory bestselles like "soccer manager 2079", "sims - drug rehab clinic" etc.)

Funny that it will not be sold in Germany (!). Activision probably can't bother to localize it and fears censorship.

I would go for a combination of min0's and fletch's idea. Good vs Evil, or more like Life vs Death, with nice and decayed flowers, pretty glorious architecture, and on the other side ruins. You could also do a lot with lighting, bright and friendly on one side, dark and grey on the other. I wouldn't go for a lava hell doom3 satan gore style though.

Thx Maz~!
The amount of artistic content is just incredible, if they have that throughout the game this is gonna be great

Very nice photo enhancements, they resemble the looks of previous Unreal shots pretty well, I almost bought it. But in the end it looks more like a max render, too good to be a game (yet)

How do you swing up that big wall? I can't change the direction I'm swinging to when I'm hanging on one of those poles and keep falling down

Its how most MMORPGs work, and how for example morrowind was made. The world is split in to cells most likely which can be editted seperatly yet realtime. map<>levelThere are multiple ways to pull that off, for killzone and shellshock both action games with standard standalone maps we had a layer system. Everything was a layer, vegitation, buildings, gameplay objects etc. so you could have 1 guy edit the vegi layer while someone else is editting the buildings, then you save all and in game its all assembled in to 1 big thing then
Has its positive and negative points

Re-reading the passage in the interview, it might be quite possible that he's actually talking about a simple layer system

Only positive aspect I see from this is that the German "Games Convention" will get even more attention now.

Very cool lighting, I like the textures too. It overall has a very warm and cozy feeling to it.
