Only played it for about 2 hours so far, haven't really gotten to the meat of the game it seems (just got on a ship and went to some forest). It definitely feels very old school in a lot of ways, the first hour is the most unintuitive beginning for a game I've seen in quite a while, trial by fire indeed. I don't think I made it easier for myself tho, since I picked the dragon dialog line in the beginning, and was treated to that awful sequence which I failed like 10 times before I finally got it right. Anyway, slowly but surely it's getting better, and if there indeed is as much choice and freedom as people claim then it should be good, it's just a very unpolished experience so far.

My copy of Dirt 3 haven't arrived today so this just got bumped up in the queue, downloading on Steam as we speak. Hope it's as good as everyone is making it out to be ~

Looks pretty damn badass, love that you got a lot of locations in Europe this time around.

City isn't as much a great place to explore as a free roaming game, but it's the perfect canvas to create new cases and experiences I reckon.

    Just finished it.

Even if the last couple of hours did fall a bit apart for me, then I'd still say that

it's one of the most memorable and engrossing game experiences that I've had to date. Got some serious highs when things were rolling and were totally into the the cases. One thing that did bug me a little were the parts where you physically walk around and gather evidence. I think the purpose is absolutely essential to the game, but the act of wall hugging your way around crime scenes while listening for your cue feels a bit undercooked to me. Another thing that bugged me in the beginning was the interrogation parts where I'd feel like I couldn't tell their bluff, but after slowing down a bit I started getting way better at it. Doesn't change the fact that you'll sometimes fuck it up but that's also part of the charm of it I guess. And dammit their chases are awesome!

I'm also interested in seeing how I'll react once I get back to a game without this kind of performance capture. I bet it's kinda like the high res displays on phones these days; In no time you won't pay much attention to it, until you see the old version

Oh and looking at the city I'd say this is the perfect game for massive amounts of DLC, hope they deliver!

I hope so. As history has shown, aggressive DRM isn't the solution.

I've only heard high praise of the first one, something like it being a better Bioware game than the games that Bioware make today. But now that the second game is almost out I think I'll go straight to that. After L.A. Noire and Dirt 3 that is

Hmmm, finally got through to the password changie thingy, and then when I tried to change it gave me an error message. Then 10 minutes later I get a mail that it was successfully changed and when I try to log in it's down again.

Not that I blame them, it'll probably be impossible to get through properly the next couple of days

Hand, forced. I could so see this being something they'd trickle out over the next couple of weeks towards E3, putting them all out there seems a bit forced.
