Really hearing mixed things from everyone on the beta. Was planning on skipping the beta and going straight to the full game, but now I'm getting really curious :G

Watched Louis C.K's latest HBO special (Oh My God), pure brilliance, as usual.

Actually didn't know it was a "character" he was acting. The Internet is strange strange place, so you never know.

Very touching video, good that this is working out for him~

Just finished watching the first season of Luther, pretty damn good. I've yet to see anything with Idris Elba where he's been less than absolutely awesome~

Indeed. Another aspect that is somewhat disturbing is if it dictates greenlight meetings early on by getting 3rd party companies to rate a game, and base major decisions on that. The entire industry is so mesmerised by metascores at this point that it doesn't even stop up to realize what the hell it's doing.

I'm all for ways of measuring games in terms of informing whether it's worth your time or not, but this number crunching is ridiculous. I'm not the biggest fan of Kotaku, but that's actually something I really like about them. Their score is simply whether you should get a game or not. I wish more sites would favor that approach.

Watched Hunger Games, and it really is Battle Royale with cheese, but I quite liked it. J-Law FTW

I agree, those aren't exactly positive examples of story telling, but my point is that they started conversations. Personally I really dig Infinite's story, but I almost more thrilled by the fact that it has made me discuss theories and points of views with people. It's been a long time since I've had that feeling, in any medium

Just finished this half an hour ago. It was a good game, but there were a few things that bothered me about it.

    + Art. Holy hell.

    + Setting and atmosphere.

    + Premise

    + Characters

    + Level Design

    - The story (near the end/at the end mostly)

    - Spamming F to scavenge every damn corner of the world

    - Unpolished combat, it wasn't quite "there" a lot of the time

It's hard to elegantly use multiple timelines in a story. And I think Infinte didn't really deliever in this regard. You have a wonderful premise with a beautiful city, two believable rival factions and a set of pretty damn great characters. But everything gets sort of tangled in this quantumy mess and when the end cinematic is shown it doesn't "click" unfortunately. Instead, the events of the game feel diluted as you're unsure what you've actually accomplished and how it all fits together. And call me conservative, but this kind of confusion/overwhelming of information is NOT good storytelling.

Actually, the story situation is a bit similar to BioShock 1. That game didn't really tie it all together either, which is a damn shame.

That's what I love about it. Most games spoon feed you every single detail and rarely leave anything for you to interpret or think about. You can claim that it's perhaps lazy writing or not delivered in an elegant way, but for once there's a game that has a story and an ending that you actually sit back and think about and discuss.

Last time I had this feeling was must have been with Matrix Reloaded, where afterwards me and the friends I saw it with were discussing all kinds of possible plot things it could mean for the next film. In hindsight that's a movie that I'm not that excited about anymore, but it sparked a conversation and thought process that rarely happens in games (Only game that comes to mind in terms of challenging and mindfucking you is MGS2's ending, and that doesn't feel anywhere near as eloquent and intended as Infinite IMO).

In some ways then it is a shame that all the other subjects that the game handles are kinda thrown out halfway through, but while I love that it handles mature themes (for games at least) in an intelligent manner, then the parallel universe story is just much more exciting in the end. That might be a contradiction, but in some ways then it does feel like you could make an entire game about either half of the game (which was probably the case at one point).

TLDR I love this game, how dare you say anything bad about it

Finally got around to reading this article, saw it a couple of months back and have been saving it until I'd finished Infinite in the fear that it might spoil something (it doesn't). Definitely recommend reading it~

This map does justice to my legacy. Btw, u have my permission to use the original story of Rambohulk. I think it will add that extra touch for the average player who is interested in background stories:
