What does Spielberg know about videogames? I mean he´s 50-> or something... Tbh this sounds like one of EA´s ways of getting more attention to its games.

Speilberg is supposed to be quite the gamer. He's also been involved in some game projects in the past such as The Dig.

So this isnt really like hes treading new ground, its just more involved afaik.

Yup, hopefully something good will come out of this overall instead of mediocre games with a cool story.

But man its gotta be cool to get to work with Spielberg

Never read that before, but I learned that lesson quite late. Lots of my first CS maps I only did in the hope of getting them official. Obviously they had no soul and I always ended up hating them, which obviously was why they were no near official CS map quality (except some of the last official CS maps), which I then learned later on.

When I then started doing silly maps (A.k.a the Pringles Era) I started having fun and really got into how layouts work and how you get a flow going in your map. I also started working alot faster when I worked for my own pleasure rather than trying to gain something from it.

Its also something that is simply a must if you want to go pro, because you wont put out quality work if you're not into it and having fun.

what really sucks about the kong fighting is that there's next to no damage feedback. you can hit and hit and hit and have no idea how close the enemy is to dying, and vice versa. that's bad game design.

You dont defeat them by making them run out of health, you defeat them by hitting them enough and then ripping them apart with some über button smashing.

But I can see what you mean Strat from a gameplay point of view, but I see this as an experience all together, like watching a movie, and in those terms I think its quite successful. I wont pretend this is genius gameplay, but it doesnt try to do this anyway.

And the complaints about the health/ammo bar is just stupid. I think its great to see a game that really tries to be cinematic and gets away with it this well. Besides, you can turn on an ammo counter in the options if you really want it.

But it really is quite interesting how devided people are regarding this game. At work its like 50/50 if people like it, much like here. But who knows, the feel and style might get kinda old when you play the full thing.

    Hmmm

It was also boring and lacked purpose.

What is that supposed to mean? For a game thats based around a movie then I think it has lots of purpose.

I can see how some people might be turned off by this if they go in expecting lots of gameplay and decision making, but as an experience like something you'd see in a movie it works terrific. But maybe thats also some of the reason why I also enjoy the Metal Gear Solid games so much, since they tend to be more based on cutscenes and story rather than actual gameplay.

Anyway, cant be bothered to sit and defend this game, I just find it puzzling that so many people didnt like it, or at least liked it for what its trying to do.

    Holy fuck it ownz0rz!1

It might be linear, but it sure is intense. I found myself just whining as the T-Rex walked around the corners trying to get get me, totally awesome. Also the animation of Kong was superb, really good job. Love the look of the game.

Wasnt super excited about the movie before, but after this I really want to see it, quite cool that a game can function as a trailer

Preordered a 360 the other day, and I have no idea why. Theres nothing really interesting at launch.

The only confirmed launch title that I find even mildly appealing is PGR3. Perfect Dark Zero looks embarressingly bad from what Ive seen lately.

But I might as well get one straight ahead instead of waiting :G
