As already mentioned, traditional level design doesn't requires any programming knowledge, unless you consider scripting programming, and afaik its not that often its required of people who work with level design (varies from place to place obviously)

My best advice, apart from finding an engine you like and reading a bunch of tutorials, is to play a lot of games and see how people set up situations and try to figure out how things were set up. Also if you're thinking about this on a professional plan, then trying out as many different engines as possible is always good idea, since it'll make you well prepared for the eventual point where you need to learn how to use some new stuff.

Also these days having some good experience in a 3d modeling app such as Max or Maya is a really big plus, and in most cases essential.

I have no idea where to find tutorials these days, but thats the way most people start

Serves them right, its a fucking joke that it took this long to get to this point.

Hopefully they'll soon have fixed the RROD problems on all new/"repaired" 360s so that this wont be necessary.

Just played it a bit on a 360 at work, the part where you're at your gf and she wants to see a movie was really cool. We were like sitting and watching 10 minutes of it, you know if the entire movie is there Teddy?

Definitely gonna check it out this weekend. This must be the first real big mod release for Source. Looks like it could be a lot of fun if you play it with the right people. ~

God I can't wait for this game, I almost need to watch the trailer again. I have a feeling I am going to over hype this game and end up hating it :\ - like Two Towers and Vice City.

Again? I've seen it like 30 times D:

I'm way overhyped, but if anyone can deliver its Rockstar North~

I bought it yesterday, but my 360s DVD drive broke

Guess I wont be playing until the end of July. Too bad, was kinda looking forward to it.

Called Xbox support, got a UPS label by email, printet it out and hammer it to my the 360 coffin I had from my old one (Good thing I kept it, kinda expected this to happen).

If just Microsoft could automate a system where the 360 automatically calls 360 support and they sort it all out, then I wouldn't be that pissed

Oh and before I left this morning I tried it out one last time, then the drive was just going in and out with end in sight, and the on/off button didn't work. Finally stopped it by taking out the power cord.

Hopefully this wont be another refurbished one (Wont get my hopes up though).

Just tried a couple of games to see if it was a special case (tried about 5-6, mainly games I knew I wont play again in the case that it fucks em up). Although it always has a really disturbing scratching like sound now, then it totally sounded like it was grinding the disc down when I put in Perfect Dark Zero (Not that it'd matter if it did in that case ;D). Now it wont read games at all, it thinks all of them are regular DVDs.

    Amazing...

And Xbox support is obviously only open from 9-17, peh.

Oh jeez here we go again. I just came home with The Darkness, and when I put the disc (or any discs for that matter) in the 360 is just starts making loud scratching sounds. Had it play something when it stood upright but it still took ages to start stuff and it still sounded weird.

    Gonna call 360 support tomorrow....sigh

I already had mine die a couple of months back, sent it to MS and got it fixed/replaced fairly quickly when it finally arrived there (some complications before there.

However I also checked around back when it broke, and if forums are any indicator then its been a fairly widespread issue with launch 360s. In fact I think theres about 4 people at work apart from me who's had their 360s die from the ring of death.

I'm just cherishing the moment right now, where my 360 is actually working. Having been without a 360 for about a month I now know how much I like it. Tis an awesome console but really shitty hardware quality.

Anyway, more SoF? Aight, as long as you can have guys standing in the air while you're pumping them full of lead. That feature totally made the game worth playing

I think it has a very professional look, but the editing of the trailer could definitely need some work, its kinda messy. Also whats up with the guns forming the T, looks dumb :G

That said though, it does get a lot of the Hitman vibe down fairly well. Actually it looks like it could be one of the better video game based movies (Which is definitely not saying a lot though ).
