It wasn't on my radar at all until a guy at work said I should check out the demo (In return I had him check out ShadowRun, spreading some luv ). Anyway, its not all bad, and it has some okay ideas with the squad based stuff where different members have some unique abilities and weapons, but it just felt so sluggish in the controls Also the combat was kinda weak, a bit hard to judge from the demo though. And although it looked really dark and moody and actually had a location that called for the shiny specular maps (for once!), then I cant help thinking that its the kinda game where you'll be sick and tired of the art style after playing it for an hour or so.

Anyway I didn't like it, never properly checked out Undying but it seems like a lot better game than this.

Fucking Sony, I hoped they'd learn from Microsoft and NOT have a bunch of different dividing SKUs, but they actually managed to make it even worse.

Anyway, I'm happy I got mine when I did. Might've paid an insane overprice (In fact you can get the 40gig for half the money I paid for mine in March), but at least I have some resemblance of backwards compatibility in it.

Who knows, they're probably gonna put out a new SKU in the beginning of next year without Blu-ray, so you can only download stuff, call it the PS3 Online Edition

But they're definitely doing the right thing in some regards. The price has to go down so people will buy it, and more developers will start making games for it. Its just sad to see them pull everything outta it until it starts selling.

Hated it when they first announced it (Since its basically an iPhone minus some of the really cool stuff), but after a while I kinda started looking a bit more positive on it. However now I'm sure I'm just gonna get an iPod Classic. Some people at work have got some and they're really slick, and although it might not be the huge change I was looking for, since I already got an iPod Photo, then its a lot thinner and 20gb more. And then I can get an iPhone without feeling too much like a fool

Also aye HP, the entire situation with scrolling music and especially turning the volume up and down, without taking it out going through the entire unlock procedure, is a big minus as well. You'd probably need a remote if you wanna use it as an MP3 player

Never played Bionic Commando, but it looks pretty cool. Cool to see something from Grin that isn't GRAW for the PC

  • UT3 Demo leaked early!!

    • October 14, 2007 at 9:09 AM

I decided that I wanted humiliate my home computer once more and installed the demo. I could actually crank it up quite a lot (medium details that is) and still have a framerate somewhat over 20fps, so thats not bad, didn't look very good anyway though, kinda 16bit lighting all over the place.

However I'm probably alone in thinking this, but the weapons and gameplay just isn't that well put together in this one. I mean that main thing that UT has to get right is the maps (They're pretty good) and the weapons, and all the weapon designs just felt really weak to me in this one. The only one that almost reached its former glory was the rocket launcher, maybe also the link gun, but everything else just feels so weak when you're firing them. I still don't get why they changed the UT99 Enforcer. They change it every fucking time, and it just gets worse with each iteration. And whats up with the minigun? What the fuck!??! Looks like something somebody duct taped behind a dumpster instead a cool killing machine. Bah, maybe its just me but I just thoroughly dislike the entire style of this UT. I totally agree with Hourences, in that it looks good but at this point it just looks like Gears of Tournament.

Maybe I'm just looking too much for them to replicate the exact nostalgic feeling I have with the first UT, silly me

Anyway, might get it if its cheap enough for PC, just to fuck around with the tools
