I'd say the texture pop ups happen a lot more often in this than I've ever seen in a UE3 game before. Doesn't bug me that much tho.

It's funny, even if I had no idea I would be able to say that ME was a Bioware game from looking at the graphics. They're not bad, but they have this certain look that's just instantly recognizable I think, some strange low poly geometry here and there .

Anyway, about the game. Had some major problems with my disc when I tried to play the game on Saturday, where it wouldn't let me create a new career (And I just wanted to check out how the intro would sound if you created some other kinds of characters with other background stories D:!). Checking the disc out I could see that there were 2 scratches that somewhat follow the circular shape of the disc.

After cleaning the disc with no results, I checked the ME forums that said I should clear my HD cache, I did that with no results. Then I started taking the HD off, make new profiles and so on, nothing would work. Anyway, to cut to the end, a guy on the ME forums posted that he had luck by rubbing the scratches with a piece of cloth, and they actually came off. That worked for me as well, and now all is fine.

Point of this long boring story is that if you're having problems with unreadable discs (Which a lot of people apparently have), and have something that looks like scratches on your disc, try and rub em off with a piece of cloth

And the games great, level 24 or something, on Feros. Still exploring to great depths. Kinda bummed about the lack of planets you can actually explore. After the first bit I did on Novaria I tried to pick some random solar system and get to some planets, but after 2 solars systems I only found 1 planet I could land on, kinda sucks. Still love the game, would just have loved even more freedom!

Cool Reno, it brings joy to my heart that you're really enjoying it. But expect an epic difficulty spike when you reach Havana, I did D:

Hehe, all of IO are going to the danish premiere on Friday, I'm not expecting anything but a trainwreck, but if its a decent action movie then I'm fine with it. I doubt they're sticking to the game very much from what I've seen, well apart from some of the style I guess.

It's really a shame it's apparently turned out to not be as good an overall experience as it showed all potential of being, but I'm sure I'll give it a play anyway. It looks like it had a lot of great components that weren't quite put together cohesively enough to become a complete win.Must be really horrible to be working with people who all know about the reviews, though. Do you just all avoid the subject or something?

Nah, people kinda joke about the 6.0 Gamespot all the time. It sucks but the general feeling is to back on the horsie and get it right with the sequel.

Freedom Fighters 2 is about to come out early 2008 lol.

Hey Mazy, I haven't gotten to try the game yet. Ive been a fan of the Hitman series and IO since the Birth of Hitman. Its to bad Kayne & Lynch got harsh reviews. At least IO is still make games original and its something different from all the same old rpg and fps genres. The MP got some good ratings for its fun and original gameplay, always a thmubs up for IO innovation. I think I will still pick it up eventually. Looking forward to the movie too, epically if Bruce Willis is one of the main Characters.

anyway good luck on your next works.

    - Cheers

Hehe yeah, its gonna be interesting to see how that entire movie thing works out now that it might not have gotten the most desirable reviews. But yeah, the MP is definitely the gem of this package, really good stuff, and more better maps are coming as DLC (Which I'm working on atm)

yeah, it's different - that's probably the problem.i'm probably going to end up buying it (i saw a few cracks/rips a few days ago but tactfully avoided them reminding myself I'd only be stealing from the tilde-master) at the end of the month, if only to see what you guys have achieved. Is it true that there is no online co-op (xbox or pc) ?

    No online co-op :G

Part of me wanted to post this thread a while ago, but I have been kinda busy (GAEMZ!) plus I was a bit pissed initially to post anything proper.

Anyway, the scores, they're not that good. 360 has a metascore on Metacritic of 69, Gamerankings is 71. PS3 and PC are generally better tho, but honestly it doesn't change anything.

The game is very unpolished and rough in many ways, and giving it more time probably wouldn't have changed much in the end. Lets just say there's a long and painful story behind the birth of this game. I'm just glad that this is over so I can move on and use the many things I've learned from this experience when I get working on new things.

I will however say that there are also plenty of things that turned out pretty great, and theres definitely enough good stuff to try it out. After playing through the game the other weekend I hate how my own levels turned out (Hardest levels in the game ), but a lot of the character stuff is really cool, definitely has potential to become really good in the next game. Plus theres a good share of really original levels and locations, and although it doesnt have technical muzzle of the competition then the style of the game definitely has a pretty cool and unique look to them. Also Fragile Alliance (MP) is really good fun, definitely a nice change in these DM/CTF infested times.

It sucks that it haven't turned out as well as it could've, but hey, we cant all make Crysises and Call of Duties . Next time boys!

Release party tomorrow, time to get drunk!

Been playing it for about 3 hours now, good stuff, love the atmosphere; music, design and such.

Started out as a Vanguard (Combo class) since that was what everybody was raving about, but I found the lack of proper combat skills sucky, went back and restarted with the default soldier instead. Really trying not to play it as a good guy this time around, with these kinda games I always set out to play as a baddie but end up doing good deeds. This time I'm definitely gonna try and keep it up (Beating whining people FTW!)

Its funny though, the graphics have that exact same look that KOTORs had, just more shader'ish this time around

Just finished it, good stuff. I too got kinda hooked off the story since there weren't any subtitles and its just so hard to follow when they're talking about all these names and trying to have some deeper philosophical theme going on.

Its not that it detracts from the game though. Gonna be interesting to see what they do with the next game, could be pretty exciting with what they're hinting at with the ending stuff

Aye can't wait. As a huge Bioware fan I've been looking forward to this one ever since they first began showing stuff off. I mean all the RPG stuff looks great and all, and the combat might actually be pretty cool, but its the style, universe and sense of scale that really thrills me about it. Just looks like its so well thought through, plus the story is apparently up to the regular Bioware standards (Which is fawkin ace!)

I really like it, still haven't gotten over just how crazy good all their animation stuff is. They definitely raised the bar on that, plus the environments are just insanely good looking. So much atmosphere, even better than what Bioshock did in my opinion.

Not too bothered by the information gathering missions, although there should have been a few more for some variation.

Very busy playing this and Assassins Creed

I actually bought a component cable just to play Mario, and it really does look beautiful. And yeah, all the Wii functionality is really well used, and theres so much variation in it. Got about 25 stars so far, loving it so far~
