Amazingly enough it actually runs BETTER than Sims 2 on this old piece of shit machine I got, they definitely optimized the living shit outta that game.
Anyway, yeah, no DRM is definitely the way to go. Look at Call of Duty 4 on the PC, that did quite well afaik (no where near the console, but what is? ) and that didn't have any DRM either. With all those Starforce scandals and such that DRM in games have been suffering under the last couple of years then its really nice to see publishers just go back to the method that works and not penalize the people that actually bought the fucking game

In terms of nostalgia, stuff like Doom, Sonic 1, Monkey Island 1+2, Day of the Tentacle and Keen 4. I tend to get goosebumps when I hear some of that music today, totally ingrained into my little nerdy brain from back then.
In terms of just damn good soundtracks? God of War 2, Uncharted, Medal of Honor, Shadow of the Colossus, Psychonauts, The Katamari Games to name a few.
Heh, wow this thread is still going. To be honest then I think people are overreacting a bit too much over this. Sure, its kinda uncommon for Valve to release a full on sequel a year after the originals release, and I would definitely have preferred them to take a crack on a new IP instead, but to flip out like this with boycotts is going a bit too far in my opinion. I'm sure Valve wouldn't release something if they didn't think it would be up to their standard.
Plus if releasing L4D2 means them getting the extra monies needed to make Episode 3 and Half-Life 3 as amazing as possible then I'm totally for that
Now that I think about it, then Valve has really done themselves a disservice by being as generous as they have with the community for this long, was just a matter of time before people were gonna start biting the hand that feeds them.

Aye it looks like really good fun. Even though the first game doesn't have the best reputation, and though I started playing it just to get some more achievement points then it was actually really good. Sure, pretty rough around the edges, but it definitely kept me playing for a quite a while and really had some moments of pure awesomeness when you were grappling around on various helicopters and gliding around.
This new one looks like its just expanding on this, almost making it feel more arcadey than the first one, and looking pretty damn nice visually to boot.
Also the snowy stuff looks interesting, some nice variation in your surroundings.

I use this as my desktop (DVI), 360 (VGA), PS3 (HDMI), and PS2 (Composite) screen. Great and versatile for the price. In fact, now that my secondary monitor (samsung) just got a row of dead pixels about 1/3rd of the way down the screen, I'm tempted to pick up a second one to replace it). There's cheaper models with the same setup, but less input options (my setup still has an unused DVI, S-video, and Component inputs), so if you don't plan on adding any more consoles and keep it just your PC and your 360, you could settle for a cheaper/larger model that only has the connections you need.
Aye, I got a 24" Dell monitor with their previous design, and like you said Frie yeah I did use that for quite a while as a PC/Console monitor. After I got the PS3 I really didn't think it did it justice anymore though, but it is great for a pretty compact gaming setup, if you don't wanna go for a full on larger sized TV.
I'm really tempted to get a second 24" monitor for my home PC, since the price is basically 1/5 of what I paid for min a few years back. My PC probably own be able to handle it tho D:

Completely and utterly surpassed MW2 as my most anticipated game of 2009 after I saw the Sony conference demo + new trailer. Now I really feel like a damn foo for not getting the collectors edition of inFamous with a beta key (Although I'm still not totally sold on the multiplayer tbh)

Damn Sony has a strong line up, both for this year and beyond. Sure there were insanely boring bits but thats almost Sony's trademark when it comes to conferences at this point . MS might have had the best show, but Sony definitely had the best games~
