I got the remake on the weekend deal and I gotta say that I'm so disappointed. The voice work is kickass and adds a lot to the experience but the backgrounds are so sloppy and bad. The original game looks much better color wise imo.
Yeah, I agree. I would definitely have preferred that you could play the game with voice acting and the original graphics and not be forced to play it with the new graphics.
Aye, like I said in the recently purchased thread, its one of the best games of the year in my opinion. Even if you only have a vague interest in racing games then you should definitely check it out, it provides some amazing thrills in pretty much every race. Also I'm pretty much always playing it from the cockpit view, even though it actually makes it harder, especially when you have water splash up on the windshield (awesomest effect EVR btw).
Anyway, enough praise cannot be given to it, was planning on getting NFS Shift, but Dirt 2 was so good with such a meaty campaign that I don't really see the point in getting it now.
I've generally liked the stuff I've seen from APB, hell, I've been excited about it since I first heard the rumblings after those guys branched out from Rockstar North around Vice City's launch.
But most of the stuff I'm seeing at the moment isn't really doing anything for me to be honest. The things that being pimped is the customization tools, because thats whats gotten most of the hype so far, the actual gameplay side seems pretty generic from what I've seen thus far. Still excited to try it out tho, but I'm just getting the same kinda feeling that I have with Alan Wake; Its a cool looking game that's just been revealed a bit too early for its own good.
Love how much verticality this map has, and how many choices you have~kinda makes me wish I did DM maps for a living

Yeah saw it a couple of days ago, the voice over guy is brilliant! As for the movie, then its funny as a trailer, but I fear this is one of those cases where you'll get disappointed by actually watching it D:

I think its absolutely amazing. I loved the first DiRT, but this one is just better in nearly every way. I especially like the later portions of the game, where it goes to the highest ranked races which bumps up the speed you're driving at. Makes everything go super fast, but not so fast that you lose control. Cockpit view is amazing, I almost always play from inthere even though it makes the game a lot harder 
Also its without a doubt the best looking game out there at the moment, absolutely gorgeous through and through. Love the menus and presentation overall.
If you like racing games, and want something thats not a complete hardcore simulation but gives you some insane rushes in every race then you can't go wrong with this one. Was planning on getting NFS Shift this week, but to be honest then I don't think I can bothered when I have a game this good.

Yeah right, they've been saying that they're gonna get it back on track over and over again for so many years. I loved the first Sonic games, hell, overall I kinda liked the Sonic segments of SA1 and alot of SA2 as well, but they've completely run that franchise into the ground, repeatedly. I kinda hope they can turn it around, but I seriously have my doubts.
But yeah, a 2D playing sonic game in beautiful 3D that embraces the fact that it doesn't have to play a lightning speeds all the time. That would be nice.
Looks great! (Well, actually it looks extremely muddy, but I know it looks great in a proper res ). That chase towards the end was a really well done demo, pretty damn intense
In terms of variation then I hope this demo is just scratching the surface on that front, a game with an environment like this needs as much as it can get
Holy fuck some of those pictures are insane. And the best part is that I suppose its actually possible to sorta run the game looking like it is on some of those screenshots with a beefy rig today.
Anyway, regarding the foliage in OFP2 then I think it looks good enough. In this case I'd much rather have quantity of ground vegetation rather than some that blends in really nicely. What I don't like that much about their overall vegetation is that lack of bushes and smaller trees in general, but that might be in some of the other areas of the island.
But I'm also used to console shooters, so excuse me with my low standards

Really stoked for OFP2, its gotten a long way since they first showed it off (That desert stuff looked terrible!). Love the fact that they're doing it for consoles and still giving you the option to play it super hardcore, but also giving you the option to play it under much more friendly circumstances. Hope it works as well as they're making it sound.
Bought Arma2 and fiddled around with it a bit, it looks absolutely gorgeous but man is that game rough on the gameplay front. Only played 2 or so missions into the campaign, but it was simply too shitty for me to give any more chances. And who the hell decided to have the first mission of the game be COMPLETELY pitch black when the game is one of the prettiest out there? Insanity. I can totally understand that people are rooting for Arma since its by the original devs, but sadly like with a lot of eastern european games its simply too unpolished for a modern market, even if it only is on PC. I guess Codemasters involvement with the first one gave them the necessary QA to make it function overall (Or maybe I'm just too demanding now)
Anyway, I'm really digging what Codemasters are doing atm, between this, DiRT and GRiD.

It's funny tho, even after playing GTA IV probably over some 300 hours, I'm actually still totally stoked for spending more time on it. Plus it kinda looks like this is all about explosive linear missions, which is a good thing!
Yeah I think sometimes people kinda get a celebration association with the word anniversary, even though all it really states is the date an event took place years back.
