Hah! Sweet! Never saw that intro before, or the making of, but like you said then it puts modern artists to shame when you see how much work went into the tiniest thing back then.
Oh and HBO > *

Yeah played the demo yesterday. I thought the voice acting was pretty horrendous to be honest. Considering that this, at least in my opinion, one of the few things they really have to nail to make it work, then it just constantly took attention away from the otherwise fantastic presentation. Sounded like most of the lines were rushed and said so unconvincingly that it really detracted from the overall experience. It does seem like they dropped the ball on voice acting portion of the production. Especially when you consider how great voice acting in games have become, even in games where it's completely insignificant, and then you have something like this where its of the utmost importance where it takes you out of the experience.
The fight in the apartment was really cool, even though I went back and tried it again and even though I did it completely flawless the second time then it more or less acted out exactly the same as before. The climbing up on the muddy hill gameplay was amazing too, I can't believe that how well it worked having you press and hold every single button one after one, was pretty freaking cool ![]()
Anyway, still quite interested in this one, if nothing else then it definitely has a certain unique vibe to it.

BioBomberShockman 2!
Got it yesterday, went into it with extremely low expectations but I've been pleasantly surprised so far. I expected a really sloppy cash-in on the first Bioshock, but so far the weapons and locations actually feel pretty cool. The environment art is pretty fucking uneven though, some bits look really good but overall the proportions of things are just all over the place, but I guess that's a criticism you could level against the first Bioshock as well.
But I'm happy that I decided to pick up after all, it's rare that I actually get surprised like this with games these days~
Played the demo yesterday, took like 10 to 15 minutes from when I started trying to find a game until I actually found one that worked, certainly hope that's not something they're shipping with ![]()
When I finally got in I was playing as a Marine in a Free-For-All DM game (Took me as few deaths to realize that the other Marine wasn't very friendly at all
). Anyway, started awful, but after I started playing a bit more cleverly and used the motion-tracker it actually started getting pretty fun. I was still completely fucked when I went up against a Predator, but the fights against the Aliens were pretty fair.
Anyway, had completely written this game out as a pass before, but after that I might check it out if I can borrow it from someone.
I was an absolutely devoted Sonic fan in the early days, but (Like I think I've already said in this very thread) then they've been gambling and fucking around with this franchise too much now and its completely lost its relevance. It's great that they finally figured out that going back to the 2D gameplay roots was the right approach if they actually wanna make the original gameplay philosophy work.
But to me I think it wont really matter no matter what they do with it now. The very first Sonic is still one of those few games that I can play through today and still enjoy based on its merits as a genuinely good game and not just a great deal of nostalgia. But it's also just one of those things that's so inherently a 90's thing, and while that also gives it a certain charm to some, then I seriously doubt that they'll ever be able to make Sonic as timeless a character as Mario and thats the bigger underlying issue I have with it. That's really what all these last couple of attempts of reboots have been about; modernizing Sonic and making him "relevant" to a new crowd, which obviously means giving him guns and adding all kinds of annoying side characters ![]()
But when all is said and done then I'll definitely get this and check it out, I think I owe them a chance now that they're actually trying to make things right ![]()

Hah! That's awesome that somebody actually remembered that ![]()
Donno about this one, I had decent fun with Fallout 3 but it was a bit too rough for me to keep on playing after I finished it. Hopefully this will feel a bit tighter/more polished and not just be a mission pack, even though I get that vibe from what they're saying.
If you want toe-cringing voice acting, I'm your guy! ![]()
Good luck tho, I bet that's still one of the hardest thing to get done right for mods :G
Yus dogs FTW! I wish I had the time/energy for a dog, plus the space. So miss the time when my parents had a dog, just a constant source of happiness.
Argh Tiger!
We just have two mobile draught beer thingies, nothing as fancy as an actual bar ![]()
Would love to see more pictures from Blizzard, getting a Pixar vibe from that picture ![]()

Ahh those are the Pure guys, nicely done Ginger! Grats ![]()
Peris is from the internet, he can handle anything they throw at him!
Played it for like 14 hours on Saturday alone, had a massive headache from playing so much on Monday, long time since I had it like that. Not done yet, but I can definitely feel it winding towards the end, gonna try and do everything I can before I get forced to move on.
Its funny, even though the general combat is probably the single aspect of the game that has been improved the most over the last, and its actually pretty decent fun when playing on the harder difficulties, then I always find myself wanting to get back to the "adventure" part of the game with conversation trees and such, its still by far the most interesting portion of the game for me. Maybe its also because I'm playing as a Soldier that I'm not experiencing that much combat variation, but I started out as a Vanguard and really didn't like the way it played, so I figured I couldn't go too wrong with a plain soldier.
I've come across a lot of cover and pathfinder bugs too, but I guess its alright considering the scope of the game. Their environment art is pretty uneven too, starting to get kinda tired of generic warehouses, plus there's a good bunch of areas that seem just slightly above mockup. It's probably the contrast that makes it stand out, since there's some absolutely gorgeous vistas and hub worlds (Illium and Omega spring to mind), plus the characters are pretty spectacular. But again, considering their scope then it's fair enough.
Overall its really good tho, really enjoying the story, the characters. Got Miranda all lined up for some sexy time
. And for once in one of these alignment games I've started playing an evil character and have actually stuck with it. My Shepard is all scarred and shit
. Really a bummer that I couldn't get my ME1 save games working tho, since it seems like the ME1 choices the game takes are almost all the exactly opposite of what I did on my main playthrough ![]()

Gah! Sorry to hear that man
It's always the thing I fear the most when buying anything new that has a display of any kind. Thankfully all the dead pixels I've had so far have always been in the corners (My PSP had 1 in both upper corners D:)
Effin consumer electronics :G
Sorry for upping this thread again, too. Figured I might as well share this, its the "70 minute long video review of Phantom Menace" guy's take on Avatar ![]()
My german is a little rusty, but I think it says that you have to shoot things in the head!
Looks good guys ![]()

Seems like it's an issue caused by me having played the game on my old 360 and having transfered the profile to the new one apparently wasn't enough. It's somehow tied to the old one. Tried a bunch of things and it just won't work, and it seems like a lot of other people on the internets are having the same problem after having changed consoles in between.
Bah whatever, doesn't really sound like you get that much out of it anyway. A few levels gained from the get go plus a bunch of extra credits. Just sucks that there's finally a game that does something like this between games in the same series and then I can't get it working.
