I'm gonna reserve judgment until I actually see something from it that isn't split second glimpses. I know it's the popular opinion to just bash everything that smells of Treyarch, but who knows? They might've stepped up their game significantly in the wake IW stuff.

Indeed. If it doesn't do anything for you, then it's fine, no one's saying that you have to like it. Personally I think it's pretty clear why a lot of people hold them in high regard even to this day, since they were way beyond their time (especially the first one), have some absolutely amazing production designs and are still extremely well paced and execute movies 30 years later.

Also, if you think Alien3 is better than Resurrection, then I'm pretty sure you haven't seen the Director's Cut (I know, it's a lame thing to say, but it really is a way better movie than the theatrical release in every way). But then again, saying that 3 is better than Resurrection is kinda like saying Alien is better than Aliens, Resurrection is definitely more silly, where as Alien3 is somewhat serious in tone akin to Alien's overall mood.

I think he's got his mind in the right place by not having any of the classic aliens in the movie. Also makes it easier to set expectations accordingly; This, to me, pretty much sounds like it might as well be a entirely new movie, but that it has threads back to the original, and is more an origin and back story about what went on behind the scenes a long time ago, rather than an origin story of Ripley.

Personally I'd be worried if he said "Yeah, I'll just do another Alien movie with new actors". That would be a task I could only see him fail at.

I do agree that, based on his current portfolio, his best days are over. That said, to this day then he's still an amazing director in my book, and by making Blade Runner and Alien he's earned himself the right to fuck up, although I hope he won't

I don't care when it comes out, I can wait. Even after all these years I think it looks great for a fan project, and its hopefully going to end up being the best way to replay HL1.

That said, they sure are taking their sweet time :wink:

I was beginning to the get idea that they'd all try and find some completely different companies instead of hooking up with their old crew, seems like there was a pretty long period between them leaving and announcing this. There were also the stories about some of them not really agreeing with some of West and Zampella's decisions.

Anyway, guess they have a pretty strong foundation for a company now.

Exactly. But I guess that's the entire idea, try and stir things up. I've been PC gaming for pretty much my entire life, and it wasn't until last year that I got a Mac, which was a means to just handle the fundamental web stuff since I personally didn't feel a need for a bigass stationary gaming rig anymore and really just prefer console gaming these days.

Played the trial on XBLA, got pretty tired of it within 10 minutes. One of those games where the demo is more than enough.

Really should buy it on Steam, so much more convenient than having to pull up some old dusty CD.

Okay, yesterday I came home late and just couldn't fall asleep. So I put on a podcast that I'd been recommended by a couple of people called SModcast, with Kevin Smith and a guy called Scott Mosier and hoped that I'd slowly fall asleep listening to that. Anyway, the point of this story is that I ended up laughing so hard from listening to the podcast that I just couldn't fall asleep at all and ended up listening to the whole damn show. Wow Luka! Even though it's really not my kind of music then it actually sounded like something you'd hear on the radio, very "commercial". You actually have a really good voice, very hoarse (Not horse, even though that would be awesome!), sounds very pro
