Is it just me or in the sniper video, did he say stuff like "He's down" every time he did a heatshot, and when he finally doesn't do a headshot he says "Headshot"? Sure sounded like it though
. But yeah, they're definitely trying to put up a fight with COD, hope it turns out nicely.

Release date, 22nd March. Probably a pretty good spot to be at, even if Q1 is getting busier and busier with each year.

Hehe, nice. It's pretty much a trailer cut together by the stuff I saw at the E3 demonstration. Really can't wait!

Yeah, can't say its that surprising, but very sad

Well, I guess I'm actually also playing TF2. We play every day at work after lunch for about 30 minutes, have done so for the last two years.

Starcraft 2, Puzzle Quest 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Finished it, but I'm still going for more stars) and Ultima Underworld

Am I the only one who feels underwhelmed? They hyped up this announcement so much, hinting at something 'completely different' than they've ever done before, and it turns out to be Bioshock... but in the sky!?I mean it's just another Bioshock, and as much as I loved the first I cant say I yearned for any more of it, and it really does look like much of the same...

I'm a bit with you. On one hand I think it looks like they're actually doing the entire franchise thing right for once, doing a game that feels right to them while taking some rather big chances and trying to freshen it up while still keeping the fundamental gameplay somewhat the same (from the sound of things at least).
However (like I mentioned in my previous post) I was expecting a new IP, since I somehow remember them specifically saying that it would be a new IP, which I guess is half true. It would just have been so awesome if they had come out with some completely off the wall concept that no-one would really have expected, and surprised people like they did with the original Bioshock. You could say that this does it a bit again, but really it's playing on our familiarity with Bioshock in a different time and setting. I just think I had too high hopes for Irrational to be one of the few developers in the industry that would actually have the guts to come out with a completely new thing again. But I really can't blame them, since Bioshock has established itself as a quite strong name now, and building up a new brand just takes so much energy and money that I guess this makes sense on all fronts.
Anyway, with all that said, it looks and sounds pretty fucking awesome. Absolutely can't wait to hear more about it!

I donno, I've been waiting for this announcement the entire week, was really hoping for a new IP (or SS3
) . Anyway, guess it's a pretty fun idea if they have to build on the Bioshock franchise. I think everybody has kinda thought of this as possibility for a Bioshock 2, you know, because that was underwater and this would be the opposite
.EDIT: Ooh, long article about it on Kotaku: http://kotaku.com/56... ... -the-skies

I donno, I liked that you had a big overview of a lot of different things (games, movies, music, tv) on the same page, now it seems like you have to click too much to get to the info you were getting on the main page before.

Hmm, still haven't received a mail saying that they've actually shipped the phone, but I've heard cases of em just sending em without any notification. Kinda odd.
Anyway, sat an played around with one of my colleagues' iPhone 4 today. Sat and made a side by side comparison with my 3G, it's just staggering how much better the screen is. I was desperately trying to make out pixels, and ended up with a headache

Can't wait!

Just played the 360 demo. At first I figured I'd cruise a bit around, check things out, but since there was a time limit on a headed straight for the objective.
The firefights in the distillery should be pretty good in theory, lots of destructible items and such, but the feel of the shooting and moving the character around just felt really sluggish that it took me totally out of the experience. Even though they have all the standard aim assists on then it always felt really awkward when I had to aim on enemies. Also I think I heard the same line from your gang buddies about 20 times in a period of 1 minute during the escort outta the distillery, he kinda broke down at the elevators, maybe because I thought I had to get it working to have him go down :G.
So after I finished I restarted it to check out the city, and not too long in I figured out it has the same issue that bugs me about a lot of free-roaming city games after playing GTA IV; Everything feels very confined and horizontal. You might have a somewhat large area to run and drive around in, but the fact that you can't climb objects of any kind is just such a massive limitation to the world after playing stuff like GTA IV and the AC games. I don't know if I'm just being super picky, but the entire mechanic of being able climb objects in GTA IV was a leap in the way you traverse the environment in the same league as being able to swim in San Andreas. But I guess they might be going for more of a hub world feel in Mafia II for between missions, rather than a large city where you feel encouraged to explore it.
It does look and sound quite good though, I quite like the entire 50's vibe, plus I actually like the way the vehicles handle. Might be because it's set to normal by default on 360.
Anyway, I'm not being hard on this one just because it's in the same launch window as KL2. I've already pre-ordered Mafia II and I'm definitely still gonna play it, it just doesn't feel quite as exciting as I had anticipated.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKK YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!
i am still expecting the meta critic score will be 7/10

We actually got scans from the mag, Mafia II scored 7/10

It's still way too early to call it though, lotsa times the early reviews are the highest scoring, lotsa times they're just about the average. Very exciting times either way

Finally it became my number in the queue, just ordered it. 32GB black.

Seen all the episodes so far now, amazingly enough I'd say all the seasons are equally good, even if the third is a tad slow in the beginning. Love that with this show they don't really seem to care about keeping the status quo, so many series where they just drag on in the same tracks over and over, ends up being so predictable. Not so much here

Now, GIMMA FOURTH!
