Odd indeed, but I kinda like it, could be interesting. Second Call of Juarez was actually really good.

Overall I think the classes in BC2 work out quite nicely, although I completely agree that there's some odd design choices with starting without your primary tools and having to earn them. I kinda get what they were trying, but it just made it a bitch when you wanted to play medic in the beginning and just couldn't. Another thing that annoy me is that C4 has been tied to the recon class. Loved playing Spec ops in BF2, running in between a pile a of tanks while they were capturing a point and just plaster C4 on em and detonate while running away. Only times I've had that in BC2 were when I switched to the Thompson or something on the recon kit, hate playing sniper :G

Also, more than 4 in a squad would be nice, and an absolute must I'd say for PC w. 64 player servers

Yeah, some of my best gaming experiences have been in BF2. That said, BC2 isn't bad either.

I hope EA has realized that this, and not Medal of Honour, is the franchise they have that actually has a chance of taking on COD. If they can do a slick and well polished single player campaign and just keep iterating on the multi player then they actually got a real chance because it different enough.

BF's biggest hurdle and strength against COD is it's slower pace though. Though many get turned off by the insane pace that a regular COD TDM game, then there's plenty that like the fact that they get straight into the action.

You gotta wonder when COD starts bringing in controllable vehicles in their MP, and whether that'll be a spin-off franchise

Figures, can't just show a trailer or teaser, need to announce that first and then you obviously also need it on the cover of GI since that such a big deal. Why can't they just release some videos or screenshots and have us all live in glorious harmony

    Oh well, later today.

OH MY DOG!!!! GIEV INFO NOW!!!!#!#!ARRGHH HULK IS ANGRIEE!11

Riccitiello did say that there would be a major unannounced FPS hitting this year, and that an announcement was nearby, so this just further confirms my suspicion. Can't wait to see what it'll be like, my feeble mind is just imagining BF2 with Frostbite tech, but hopefully there's something more to it (Even though that would be fine for me! ).

    EXCITEMENT!!1

Finished it earlier. Apart from the story falling a bit flat for me, then I absolutely love this game. Without a doubt one of the coolest sci-fi games to date and on pretty much every level it seems like this is the game that the first one should have been.

Still haven't checked out the multiplayer, don't really have that high expectations after most reviews having bashed it. Did start over on the single player though

Yeah, like the 360 with the DVDs then that's gonna end up biting them in the ass. If the games are near PS3 level quality thats gonna take plenty of space, and AFAIK flash prices aren't really affordable enough that they can just include a 10 gig stick with each game, even if they do it in huge numbers. Then again, you can get extremely far with compressing stuff.

Btw, videos of the press conference

Oh yeah, regarding battery life, can't remember where I read it but its supposed to about 4-5 hours while playing games. I think that's pretty decent considering what kind of CPU it'll have to handle.

Although I think all the odds are against Sony (As it looks right now, smart phones and Nintendo pretty much have the entire market locked down as it is), then I really hope this will be something interesting. They kinda had to do the dual analog sticks, and they kinda needed a touch screen as well, but the one on the back? Really? Although it sounds kinda cool for the use in Little Deviants, then it just makes it feel like they've taken the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach. They do still have the big advantage of actually having tactile feedback, they can do games well that the touch based devices cant.

But the really interesting bits from their press conference were Playstation Suite (which could be HUGE for Android phones), and the fact that they emphasized that you could almost port PS3 games for the NGP. I heard some people talk about the prospects of then being able to play the same game on your PS3 and NGP, so that you'd be able to start it up on your PS3 at home, and progress through it on NGP while you're away from home. It's a beautiful idea, but it seriously sounds like a pipe dream to me. Imagine how much cross referencing and how much parallel QA you'd have to do to get it working, sounds like a huge job for the developers unless the NGP features some dream tech that makes it possible to run on PS3 test kits.

Anyway, I'm quietly rooting for Sony, but I seriously doubt that the NGP or PSP2 or whatever will be the success that it needs to be.

And I am absolutely certain that the price will be way too high, after all, this is Sony we're talking about. They said that if you thought the PS3 was pricey at launch (which it was), then you should just work harder to be able to afford it

About 5 hours into it, absolutely love it! Really thrilled that this time around they take the time to build up some really unnerving and tense situations and actually keep their finger off the "just spawn more monsters" button once in a while. The pacing is just so much better than in the first game. Also some seriously brilliant semi-cutscenes where you have control of the aim. Just hope they can keep this up for the rest of the game~~

Voted earlier, some great entries. Think it's great with these competitions, feel bad that I was too lazy to participate. The 1024x1024 one sounds like fun, think I also participated in one of those once (or at least one with very small maps).
