yeah yeah
I'm just too lazy to add new names and update you
-
I'll do updates some other time
However, is the current test folder arrangement overdone?
Continent -> Country -> State/Province
then people in the proper folder with their city in their description
Another setup, that ol brought up, was to have a folder for each letter in the alphbet, then put people in the proper folders, where Jynx, whose name starts with J, would go into the J folder.
The main purpose of needing folders? There's now about 50 names, and on my screen I can only see 10 names at any one time, which makes adding and then sorting names alphabetically an almost painful task. So if I can hide most of the names while dragging a name to the proper folder, there's less scrolling involved, and less chance of me fucking things up.

Spell, you're on it already.
st0lve, you euros and your strange city spellings

Can you find me the exact location of yours, when I tried finding it before it couldn't find it, then I googled what you gave me, and it said the spelling was incorrect (and then it gave me the spelling for the other city name).

meh I'll add em later.

what are you scaling their icons for D:~
When I right click city markers to add to my places (then I edit them to insert the person's name), if the city is a small city compared to others, the icon and text scale is usually at .8, so is less visible when zoomed out. Others, on the other hand, mainly capitols, have a scale of 1.1, which are more visible than others. I want to have everyone at 1.0, but it's not letting me

you made zyn have a dev icon
usr si hero
Not directly.
Apparently if I edit the scale to someone's icon, it somehow changes the appearance of someone else's icon. This is why people like RD and PCNerd keep getting the wrong icon, as well as CJ got a dev icon but I quickly fixed that (I didn't see zyn's dev icon, though)
I'm thinking about adding the 10 EA studios, but does anyone really care about EA anyways? Didn't think so.

finally done with that batch, although I probably made a few errors

move mine to massapequa fewl
oh right.
So, now that there's ~30 people, anyone got ideas for some sort of organization? Due to my res, I can only see 10 names at once (with the places pane minimized), and soon it'll get annoying to add people to the list in the lower range of the alphabet. There's not enough people that work for game devs to have different devs as folders.

New people added!

i clicked it and just the source code came up.
Did you read the directions on the first post? You have to manually add a network link in Google Earth, and COPY the url and paste it in the dialog.
For others that may point this out, I know it's possible to have the other file format (KMZ) that opens Google Earth and inserts the custom placemarks, but that method is static, it does not update on its own. The network link option (which uses the KML file) is dynamic (it updates the contents), but requires that the user can follow directions. Hopefully the Google Earth devs can fix it so when browsers see KML files, it does the proper network link process rather than showing the source in the browser.
And Ill add you three later when theres more people to add. Although, Minotauro, I looked the other day and couldn't find your city... or at least a city marker for it. Can you help me find it?

Arg... this must be a glitch
For some reason, some icons keep changing, for example RD's went from R t o P, and ThePCNerd went from P to R. Also DelaZ went from D to G.
Another possible glitch, rarely some items in the list move. I'm trying to keep it in alphabetical order, but yesterday I saw my name jump from bottom of list to the middle. (This just could be a result of me trying to reorganize names in such a tiny area, as only 10 names are visible at once so it requires scrolling)
Not so much a glitch, if you see names or icons appear much smaller than other names, this is because when I set a city as a placemark, the city in question is a tiny city, and has a smaller scale, and this small scale transfers onto the new placemark.

All updated
Bic-B@ll, what's your city? I don't want to put the placemark on your house. For now I put you on Seaford (the closest city marker).
For the people who either can't download Google Earth, can't get it to work, or for other reasons just don't have it, I have put up some screenshots on the original post.

Everyone added except:
Zyndrome: can't find
Zacker: can't find (is there an english spelling of Rødding, or a replacement set of characters for ø?)

- A lot of good security guards and metal detectors do! (Great, now they're going to have army personel at each entrance, like they do at airport terminals.)

We need to make a "Stalker's Guide to the Internet" and merge something like google maps with my crappy little php map thing (which I'm not updating, so don't ask), and then mark where we live, where our parents live, where our ex-wives/gf's live, where we work, and the best position to ditch our bodies where the authorities would never think about looking. yeah.
