S.T.A.L.K.E.R is G.O.L.D

    Craptastic, I thought that might be the case. Guess the rumours of running it on a GF3 + are bullshit then :roll:

    I doubt it'll outsell the Ps3, but the sales are going to be quite high, 6 years of hype is going to get a lot of sales regardless of wether the game is actually worth it or not.

    Thats a graphic Card issue, I think it is to do with it overheating or the game doesn't like your card. I know in my laptop, I'm running an Radeon x1300 and when my computer gets really hot, sometimes I see these errors. If that is not the issue, I would see it as the game dosn't like your graphic card. I donno for sure.

    Played a few hours worth and I have to say it was worth the wait in my eyes. The atmosphere is INTENSE. But the thing that really bugs me is the performance, I get better performance out of oblivion on max than this on low/med. It's fine though if I turn it to static lighting, but then you lose all the normal maps, detail and lighting and it looks shit then. So... blergh.

    Great game, just needs some patches to sort out performance.

    And I got kinda the same as koko, but only happened to me when it rained. Couldn't see shit.

    And yeah dux, that's a very good point - my PC can handle shit pretty damn high, sometimes I'll get 5 fps but it'll still be playable to a certain degree - it's all or nothing for me at this point, I tried bumping up texture detail to make things look a little better but without dynamic lighting it all looks pretty weak (as far as "ooh pretty" goes). That's my only issue so far, I just want it to look better and run nicely.

    The level design and environments look sweet as fuck even if they have some really blocky shit (the fences for instance look retarded); but if I start nitpicking things it'll take my mind off just how awesome this is to play, you don't notice a rectangular railing when you've got 20 guys shooting at you and some vortex trying to suck you inside out.

    Dont even think I'll bother and try to run it on my home computer, sounds like its a system hog :G

    Saw somebody play it at work though, looks quite nice. Kinda like a depressing Oblivion with guns and radiation

    i have a 8800gts and i dont have any problems and run it at full throttle

    I just experienced my first lighting storm with full dynamic lighting... HOLYSHIZNIZZLE it looks fabulous! This game is fantastic I could spend forver just wondering around starting at the sky and listening to the awesome atmosphere. As it began to rain I took cover in the factory that you raid with a few other rookie stalkers and we sat around a burning barrel and listening to one play the guitar while I watched the storm out of the door.

    Prior to this in the raid I had saved one of the stalkers from a fatal gunshot wound and after saving him from all but certain death befriended him. Anyway, after the stalker had finished playing the guitar I decided to leave just as I was leaving the premises I suddenly heard gunshots, quickly turned around and ran back to the building I just left. Upon entering it I see one of the stalkers running out with his pistol drawn and being chased by one of the Mutant boars! I quickly help him kill it, and from what I could gather the fucker had snuck up behind them through the shadows of the building. I discovered the 2 other stalkers bodies, one next to the burning barrel, he hadn't even had chance to react to the boar, and my friend who was face down in the mud outside.

    I. LOVE. THIS. GAME.

    I mean this monster scared me to death when I went inside this little house and it was it was spendin' there sucking on a dead corpse.

    ah lol it's funny this game.. it's like different.. you know what i'm saying? cause it was really cool to do a deal with the police po-po out out there, down the bridge offering cash, to git over to the other side..

    this game is bliznort. buy it or not but you gotta try it

    Mannnnnnnnnnn. It is buggy though, my log files don't work so I never get to read any of the diaries as it doesn't update the log to show them.

    Well what i can say about this game, the atmosphere is really awesome, but i mean, when you try to make a postapocalyptic background, a cool thing is that the player wanders in a dead world without life, and feel opressed. But goddammit, in that game i will sure not feel alone with dogs, mutants, stalkers, army dudes and so on, there's always something to kill every 30 meters. AND THEY REAPPEAR TOO

    I say that because i've played maybe only 3 hours and i must have killed almost 400 living being. It's a fps you will say. well, you are not totally wrong
