do you guys have any suggestions for communities I can go to to pitch the site? I can think of a few off the top of my head, but I want to have a large list of places to pimp this thing next week.

mapcore + digg = fucking brilliant.
bookmarked, signed up, etc.

A couple more...
Don't limit yourself to just game dev sites, maybe try to shoot an email to Techcrunch or look into pushing it on Squidoo, Delicious, Magnolia and other similar sites.
-
Yep, definitely give some of the bigger 'Web 2.0' sites like TechCrunch a buzz. This puts a fairly unique twist on the whole Digg clone concept, so they might want to give it a go.
-
you should put the Powered By Pligg footer back in there along with a source code link. Gotta respect the devs and the GPL. I'm not trying to be an ass about it, just saying is all.
-
we just put a nod to pligg in our new FAQ page here: http://www.devbump.com/faq-en.php
-
how about you stick it on digg and we'll all digg it

did I mention I'm paying the server bills myself?

I think me and eeen are at a stopping point for the site, and are going to open the floodgates on trying to recruit more people to be involved. Anyone should feel free to pimp the site in thier own communities, or submit it to whatever news site they want. I'm going to spend all night hitting the streets and posting in small random game developer forums to enlighten the people themselves about devbump.
And lets not forget to keep bumping people!
-
ok, a digg article is up here: http://digg.com/gaming_news/devbump_com ... developers
be sure to bump and defend me against the salivating digg fanboys wanting to put my head on a pike for copying digg.
-
dugg and defended!
Rally up people. It generally takes about 60-90 diggs for an article to get on the front page of digg.
-
9 diggs

-
it has been dugg
-
anyone know how to submit something to be on joystiq? or do they only work by picking things up on thier own?
the devbump digg article in on the front "most popular" ranked upcoming news stories in games!
-
Joystiq has a tips form on their (very big) menu. Have a look or do a page search and you'll find it eventually.

-
-
wow, holy hell that was hard to find. thanks
-
Hmm, this can get pretty big with alot of devs and wannabes utilizing it

-
