Well the Wii was the console that sported a browser… even without Android, they could easily include a browser and a couple other native apps.

This thing is by all means just a tablet in a dock, with gamepad support. They have built what some people wanted to Kickstart for the iPad.

To me it would make sense that it could let you leave your standard tablet at home.

In the same boat. I might consider it further down the line but if i did get one it would just be for the fact that it's a Nintendo console and I've been waiting since the Gamecube to pick another one up, but they keep coming with all these gimmicks which don't interest me. I wouldn't ever see myself using the portability for it. I'd also hope they release a better controller though as the one that breaks apart looks too big and awkwardly shaped.

To me, that trailer could easily be one of those satirical videos about video game addiction, I mean the guy can't even go out to a field to walk his dog without scratching his itch to play some more Skyrim. I guess this means I'm in the 'getting too old' camp as well :)

    Good guy @Sprony.

Love the look of that Mario game. I think I'll just get Zelda on the Wii-U. I doubt there will be much difference and then I can wait for the Switch's price to drop before getting the rest of the first party titles. Looks like a fun little console though!

I feel the exact opposite about it. The game might be about the clash of different universe but stylized Super Mario in that realistic urban setting...it just looks so wrong to me. Like a fan project.

Yeah, from what they showed then Mario Odyssey looks a bit messy in terms of style, seems a bit incoherent (Getting a Sonic Adventure 1 vibe from it). Maybe it'll be great, but the new Zelda being a launch title sealed the deal for me on getting a Switch.

This right here is how I feel. Pretty much the only draw for me to Nintendo products anymore is Zelda. Maybe if I quit being lazy and played Bayonetta I would feel differently - but alas, I have not. So Breath of the Wild on my Wii U it is. Mario looks like it has strong platforming as always, but the inconsistencies of art styles does not get me excited.

probably the only one here waiting for the mario maker announcement. I would buy a WiiU for it but I feel like I'm better off waiting for a Switch version right now.

I got to play some Zelda on Wii U at E3 last year and it was perfectly fine, except I still am not in love with the tablet controller. I guess I'll get used to it because I don't expect to get a Switch at launch just for Zelda. (Unless I can convince Nintendo Analyst Relations dept to send me one. HA!) I'm a little worried too about the Mario but having not played it I can't say for sure. Does feel like "whaaaaa???" That said, my first reaction to seeing Super Mario Galaxy was "whaaa?" and then I played it and thought "ohhhhhhhhh now I get it."

Anyone else think ARMS might actually not be terrible?

Just get the "Pro" controller. I'm sure they'd support using that since you won't always have the touch screen if you've docked the switch so should be easy enough for them to support non tablet controllers on the Wii-u.

My enthusiasm has severely diminished over the weekend. I had to write a lot about the Switch, so I'm pretty well informed and what I've learned ain't that great. The console has 32GB storage space. Zelda for instance, takes up about 43% of that. It does support SDXC memory cards up to 2TB but those aren't out yet. You can now buy a 256GB for around 110 euro and a 512GB one for around 230 euro. That's a lot of money for storage which is not optional unless you want to keep installing and removing games.

The Joy-Con grip doesn't charge the controllers. You have to buy a separate charger for that which costs around 30 euro. You can charge them through the console itself but only when it's docked. You'll have to pay for the online services as well. Pretty standard by now, but in contrast to Microsoft or Sony, you get a free NES or SNES game which you can only play for the duration of a month. So it will not be added to your library. Also, you need to download an App for your smartphone in order to play and chat with friends (which is part of your online subscription). Why pay for something when I can Skype for free?

Worse, there are only 5 games at launch and it will take a while for more to come. The 3rd party support that they were boasting about, are primarily ports of old games. I wonder if Skyrim will even fit on 32GB! Luckily, you all can take your time making a decision because as always with Nintendo, the thing is sold out everywhere. Not due to popularity but limited stock. Oh, and it comes without a game or demo disc.

The Switch craze reminded me of the "Steamboy" console. If that was available I'd get it. On the Indiegogo they were saying was coming late 2016 but there are no updates.

My enthusiam diminished when I saw the default controller doesn't have a dpad.

In theory this is a great idea but what I want to see would be something more like a ps4 using a vita as a controller.

Hell Sony already has a pretty good lead to do this considering their library allows targetting both vita and ps4 with the same(ish) codebase.

I wish Sony gave more support to the vita, it's such a neat little gadget, those who held one know they feel so damn good in your hand. Maybe they will now, with Nintendo starting the whole "go outside to play games" trend.
