Yet, I think all this could have been avoided had they used a made-up country that was based on NK or had a fictional North Korean leader than wasn't the current head of a Batshit crazy oppressive regime.

No... that's the whole point dude! That it's NK!

It's fucking ridiculous that in 2014, we still have dictators in this little blue sphere of a planet of ours. Most of us have learnt from the mistakes of our fathers, and those who havent, deserve nothing less than being ridiculed.

I don't disagree that we shouldn't be bullied by dictators and all that but it wouldn't have hurt the film's chances if it had been a made-up country that was based on NK or had a fictional North Korean leader. It's what happens usually in these kind of films, US president assasination plots feature a fictional president usually not the actual person serving at the time. People talk about Team America World Police, but back then NK didn't have the same capabilities it does today, things have changed and not for the better. Also take into account that Sony is a Japanese company and NK is strongly against Japan because of the imperial history and occupation of the Peninsula. If Sony was so focused on making a film about the current leader of NK, they should have stuck to their guns and released it, if they didn't want this kind of attention, they should have gone for the fictional dictatorship option.

Completely agreed, but the way i see it, it's like trying to argue logic against a spoiled brat child; you're only going to make the kid even more brattier even though the child is 100% wrong. I think Sony is just being the bigger man at the moment.

I'm Korean American so I hear a lot of talk from family back in S. Korea; apparently folks in S. Korea were a bit pissed off that some US filmmakers were agitating the tension.

Eh, Kim Jong Un IMO is just some clueless kid serving as a puppet for the regime in charge. I'm sure there's advisors and generals who make the actual decisions for him.

Reading the people's mind on the internet. Talking about dictatorship and freedom in this kind of movie is paradoxal.

    Quote

In order to stifle any rebellion in advance, it should not be there take in a violent manner. Simply create a collective packaging so powerful that the very idea of revolt even more come to the minds of men. The ideal would formatting individuals from birth limiting their innate biological ability.
Then we continue the packaging drastically reducing education to bring it to a form of integration. An uneducated person has a limited horizon thoughts and his thought is merely mediocre concerns, the less it may rebel. Must ensure that access to knowledge is becoming increasingly difficult and elitist. The gap between the people and the science, the information for the general public is anesthetized any subversive content. Especially not philosophy. Again, we must use persuasion and not direct violence is massively broadcast via television, information and entertainment always flattering emotional and instinctive. We occupy the minds with what is futile and fun. It is good in a ceaseless chatter and music to prevent the mind from thinking.
They will lay their sexuality at the forefront of human interests. As a social tranquilizer, there is nothing better. In general, we will make sure to banish the seriousness of life, to deride everything that has a high value, maintain a constant glorification of lightness, so that the euphoria of advertising become the standard human happiness and freedom model.
