I think the lighting and colour pallet looked better in the Demo. It's very Blue blue blue now.

Not sure if is same date release @Pampers.

When I heard the news I was very happy, but then mates started telling me all the problems the Windows Store has, first of all being unable to decide where to install software you get from there... so in my case I can't even install this because where I can find space for 75gb of game on a 128gb system disk??

There are other things that if you want I can go and dig, the painted picture was very discouraging. But you can just look at the embarrassing release for Gears Of War remaster, performance was terrible on most systems and patches weren't coming. I remember seeing comments from Gamespot or Game Informer but I can only find this rant now

Well with the limitations that there are now, I'm very not looking forward in getting those on Win, even if I would have actually done it.

I don't have a PS so I've been thinking for a while of swapping the 360 for a One, if I can find some deal in some shop; also to get a blu ray player.

But yeah, then there are not really other games I'm looking forward to.

I pre ordered the xbox1 version because they said I would get a key for the PC version on day one! Now I checked their twitter and they're saying there's a 6 to 7 day wait on those keys. What the fuck Microsoft, if you can't keep your promises, don't make them okay? Also, if a game is broken on a platform, don't fucking release it on that platform and give the devs more time to polish it!

Fucking hell this makes me really pissed off

Do you also have an X1 @(HP), or you thinking that maybe you'll get it? Was it somehow cheaper/same that buying PC only?

    Quantum Broken

"as expected" the game has been ported poorly on PC, unstable performance and regular crashes on nVidia cards

Another poor PC port. I think we should have a new official game award for terrible port of the year.

Looks like they cut off some effects, like particles and changed water to the final game, in order to make it run better on the xbox one. I kind of liked the lighting on the original demos, now it's just blue blue blue shady like alan wake was. I doubt i will pick this up, even though i liked earlier remedy games a lot.

Maybe the new management will change things, as the old managing director left during the development.

Alright, played about 3 hours of this yesterday, until I got interrupted by an earthquake, perks of living in California. Basically finished Act1 which is the tutorial and lays the ground for the whole story.

Only when I booted up the game and I saw that bullet shaped Remedy logo I actually realized I was about to play a fucking Remedy game and right off the bat I started getting excited. Everything about the game screams Remedy, the story, TPS like gameplay, the main hero narrating what's going on, fantastic storytelling, etc.

Presentation wise, the game looks fairly decent. I'm not a fan of the overly used screenspace relfections in almost every shader, even on High settings there's still reflection bleeding on the edge of the screen that annoys the shit out of me. That said, whatever they did for the time-stopping shader trickery is fucking amazing, I have no idea how they managed to get such a unique looking style for the time capsules, it looks straight out of a Hollywood movie running in real time, really impressing.

I'm very disappointed with the performance on PC though, my rig should be able to run this game maxed up no problems and I had to set everything from ultra down to medium/high on most setting to get it to run at acceptable frame rate at 1080, but there's still some sporadic breaks here and there, almost like all of a sudden the engine is streaming huge amounts of data and then stops. You can definitely tell the PC version was overlooked. In this day and age where PC gaming is back in full force, there's no excuse for this, specially since Remedy has some great track record with getting amazing looking games for their time running on standard computers with ease. (both max payne and alan wake ran on PC like butter when they came out) Plus, this game sells itself on looking good, among other things. If they can't even utilize the high end hardware you own to get the best visual experience at 60fps, that's a huge oversight.

That said I saw enough to recommend this game to everyone, if you're into SP games with great stories getting this is a no brainer. They're doing some really bold stuff with this game, and I'd hate to see this title flopping because of shitty decisions from the publisher, so give it a go! I'll post again when I finish the campaign.

I really want this, but the known PC issues have kept me away (plus the Windows Store limitations). I know it's been patched couple times but doesn't seem like it is ok yet and I wonder if it will ever be. Gears Of War seems to suffer the same fate.

They posted an update last night on Facebook, announcing that Remedy has two dev teams and they're working on two games, both new IPs by the sound of it. Explicitly it's said they're not working on an Alan Wake sequel.
