Seriously though, I'm hyped as fuck for this. I love the concept of the story and gameplay, and I'm getting excited just thinking about what kind of insane stuff Remedy is going to be able to do with it. And the fact that it's the Max Payne developers making a game all about time manipulation... well, fuck.

OT: they presented also an iOS game... lol those ungrateful journalists don't care to shake their hands with one of the head of the studio. Good manners.

    I loved Alan Wake.

Even tough it could be quite repetitive near the end. I ended up playing the game a couple of times.

Anyone else automatically think "OMG IT'S MAX PAYNE" when Sam Lake appears on videos now?

I was hugely disappointed by Alan Wake in my first run. But story is written well and the theme is helplessy ticklish when you are into that stuff, so thanks to the chivos, collectibles and DLCs I ended up playing it 3 times and i'm surely gonna play it again. (It is my intention to get 1000 msp, but I also got it on Humble Bundle so I have to see it at higher res sooner or later.)

What I find addictive is simply the setting: i love the North-West panoramas (Twin Peaks, aww), if the game was the sandbox they originally intended, it would have probably been the end of me.

With time-related mess up, Quantum Break just promises to be as much as cult material. If they are going to make the live action show part influenced by gameplay (i understood it will not, but recently read something suggesting the contrary), it will be definitely a reason to replay it.

Did they model Max Payne after that guy? Maybe just from the first game? Looks really familiar.

yeah i think every remedy character basically resembles him to a certain extent. even the new guy in quantum break looks a little like him...

Oh, that's a piece of videogame history now!

Is the screenshot some kind of montage? Because face texture is insanely great thinking of when it was made, and compared to the one on the hands.

Anyway i don't see resemblance in the physical features of the characters after the original Max Payne, the model in the 2nd was completely different (and i quickly fell in love with it).

I'm curious if they'll have Sam making an appearance in Quantum Break too... but i'm hoping not, at least not in the way they did in Alan Wake because the amount of (self-)referential material they put in Alan Wake totally broke the immersion for me.

If I remember correctly, the high-resolution face textures was a big thing about Max Payne. I recall magazines, etc going crazy over how good it looked way before it actually came out.

The face texture was propably 512x256, the reason it looked so good is because its a straight photograph.

the face texture of max payne 1 = sam lake

there is a live action video segment in alan wake

were some conan obrian /jimmy kimmel / jon steward / stephan colbert style late night host

has alan wake and sam lake as guests and at the end of the clip when the show is over and people are applauding the host goes:

"just do the face one more time" to sam lake and he does ... i almost fell out of my chair laughing when i saw this.

The tech on the face animations on Quantum Break seemed pretty interesting. Saw that stuff presented in "Syysgraph 2013" here in Finland.
