I've never seen a fast and furious. That said my bucket list includes an entry called "Fast and Furious Marathon"

I bet it's still 1000000x better than any Wes Anderson movie or Lost in Translation

i watched like 2/3rds of that movie and got so bored i had to leave. i'm never getting those 6 hours of my life back

I agree and i usually dont take it offensively. Usually because it doesn't come off as some sort of attempt to speak a truth. I mean I love Kung Pow Legend of the Fist, I'll watch a blaxploitation movie, I'll sit in a room comfortably with asian friends while watching the worst large teeth bad asian stereotype comedy act. All because these don't have an end result of potentially making the viewer take these viewpoints as fact.

I've personally seen people watch this movie and actually take something away from it about Japanese people even though they've never even met someone from Japan for more than 20 mins. This movie almost seemed to be trying to push the stereotype as some sort of fact.

You might be thinking I'm referring solely to the Japanese though, it was also stereotyping Americans as arrogant people who are above the culture they visit.

I'm not really alone one this, there was a large outcry. Lost-In-Racism was born, countless people wrote papers about the underlying subtext.

This one is ok because it doesn't go too far. I don't find the movie to be overtly racist so I don't really agree with the extremist papers (Then again who ever really does?).

Also coming from a city where people tell foreigners to go home to their own country frequently then feel that they should be catered to when visiting others as a minority is not something I'm a fan of either.

Of course all of this might have been forgivable if the movie wasn't so boring and badly done
