Ah right no I never noticed that there were good areas to put it down in, I've just been throwing them out everywhere, don't think they made that too clear!

Nope, it's poorly explained. Also, while you might not be able to afford blueprints, you can usually build your own weapons pretty well. When you purchase a blueprint, it contains EVERY little attachment and circuit that is part of the weapon, so that's why blueprints can be pretty costly.

Okay, just finished it! All in all, it was a very good game! If you can live with the reduced horror-level, I definitely recommend it.

The game itself is hella-fun. Blasting necros is always enjoyable and there is enough enemy variety to keep you interested throughout the campaign. The absolute highlight of the game is the weapon crafting and resource collection. Acquiring parts, upgrades, raw materials and assembling badass tools of destruction is very rewarding. At every opportunity I remixed or remade my arsenal to try something new; only towards the end did I stick to my deadly favourites. I will probably do a "New Game+" replay of the game on a harder difficulty and continue my brutal experimentation (for science!). It's simply that much fun.

The campaign story could've been better. I love the premise of Dead Space and it's ingridients (markers, necromorphs, unitology etc). It's a very potent and intruiging mix that, unfortunately, is very hard to wrap up in one game. Visceral Games was probably in a very tough spot but they managed to pull of a decent main story. Not great, but decent. I have to give a huge plus for all the audio, text and video logs though. They tell haunting side-stories that were surprisingly engrossing!

Sorry for the gravedig, but apparently there won't be another Dead Space (soon)

i guess everybody knew this when the story of the 5 million copies came out, but this is unfortunate:

A former Visceral Montreal employee claims to have told Game Informer that "the entire studio has been laid off".

    Aw.

Also, let me know if you guys want to play co-op! I'd really like to replay it with a second player.
