I'll just take this in norwegian, since its for spine:Spine, sinsykt fine textures! Kan jeg også få den guiden med "den gule veggen" Siden jeg vil også bli flink til å lage textures

Du vet hvor du finner meg (IRC) ellers så har Zyn msn mailen min

    Thanx!

You got some nice stuff going on yourself to.

But you need to sharpen the wall a bit.

Yeah, sure, talk to Zyndrone he has got the tut.

It's gonna be on mapping.no when that's up

    again anyway's.

I'm not an IRC kinda guy...

Play around with the levels, contrast, brightness, sharpen a bit, don't copy and past windows either.

Made a new version, but the windows still suck (now they look fake )

EDIT: I just noticed that they didn't tile well, so I'm doing a little editing

He he st0lve, don't give up...

The wall is looking better but u could use the stamp tool to fix some

of the patches (vertical cut lines).

The windows and top border are "floating" a bit, try to get them

more stuck to the wall if u know what I mean, not to much shadow

behind the windows, and ad some on top of the edges as well.

On second thought, just bin them and google up som photos that

u can use as a base to work from.

Find a nice decorative top border while you'r at it...

whatever blurred photo you used as source for the windows and the border....youd be better off painting those from scratch instead. And get rid of the black, makes it look ugly

It was just something I found..

But I have gone through like 1000 pictures, and no one got a good boarder or a window in it And if it is a nice window, its to small

I'm so tierd of google now :x

you did like 12 cool variants on one texture.

break that up into like 5 textures and your sold.

fuzzy fuzzy fuzzy. IR, sharpen up your crumbled edges and try not to make them look so smooth. As it is your texture base is solid but I can see on the upper left window the crumbled away plaster is gonna tile like a motherfucker. However, my main point is that the textures have a loose fuzzy feel when it comes to the hand drawn bits (photo sourcing is fine, but you have to draw them in nicely) try looking towards using a layer set to overlay (vary the opacity to your tastes) and using only black and white pencil (set to 1 pixel width at 20% strength) to get a chipped and cracked feel.

This is Half-Life 1 you're dealing with, smoothing and fuzzing of your textures is gonna happen in-engine anyhow, so sharpness is a bonus in this case

    Hope that helps!

    Hey, very nice textures!

Love the colour and patina, it really looks old.

But I agree on The_Postmans coments,

and if you are looking for realism,

it needs to loose some of that soft feel.

The cracks need to be much more sharp on the edges and irregular,

the stucco or cement looks to thick.

I think they allso have to much highlight on the edges.

And maybe this is me beeing a bit picky, but the things that hold the

drain pipe in place look a bit toy'ish, (never seen a thing like that

    in the real world).

    This is my opinion,

we all have different ideas on what looks best though...

But again this is really 1first class!

they can be used in HL1 mods. Like flfd, I'm using the havana textures (at default size and color, and looks the same in game) for map I'm working on.
