Players like f0rest and Ne0 will be irrelevant in this game.

Erm... you haven't been flowing any CS:GO tournaments I presume? Cause Get_Right and f0rest are still kicking ass and doing amazing individual performances. They won every match so far and most of them by a really big margin (more than 8 rounds of difference).

As I've played this CS:GO after release for some 20+ hours, I must say this game is actually pretty promising, especially for a 12.59€ game. There still exist some retarded stuff from time to time, like getting "stuck" on Team Selection -screen or some odd lag-spikes occurring usually in cs_italy and de_inferno (maps with chickens), but it's getting somewhere. I'm definitely creating at least 1 map for this game (probably it will be generic Dust-themed map, because I have always wanted to create one since 1.6 times when I thought only engineers can do level design).

So yea, I seriously recommend people giving this a try (getting into it with open-mind, not all negative-nancy way) and practicing a bit more if you're getting donkeypunched, while at the sametime being uber-pro in CS 1.6.

Been playing it quite a lot lately, really digging it. Warmed up to Demolition mode too, love how the maps are compressed down to the core and go straight to what would be the most interesting area of a map from the get go. Not something you wanna play for long stretches of time, but nice to break it up a bit. One thing that is annoying me is that there seems to be so few servers playing Dust, everyone is playing fucking Dust2 :G

I wish I had the time to work on a map. It's what I would've been doing this weekend, but my computer had a trojan rewrite a bunch of my sys files so I had to reinstall windows, yaaaay

Only thing missing from this game, is new maps for the defuse mode. I mean, yeah, the old ones work just fine and I really love them.. but c'mon.

Despite not having the best impression when I started playing I'm now really loving it.

I haven't played CS 1.6 in half a decade so I can't really make any comparisons with that but this game definitely feels much more responsive and fair than CS:S... When I die I die because I made something stupid or the other player was better than me, and not because of some crappy hitbox lag.

Anyway, I'm really hoping that valve builds a community around this game maybe by having a maps/skins section under that workshop thing. With some valve love I believe there could be a renaissance in CS mapping

I really like some of the minor tweaks they made to some of the maps. For example in Aztec as a T and in the first room before the wood bridge, the crates used to be jammed up against the wall so there was only one way around. Now the crate is away from the wall so players can move around both sides. It just seems like a minor but obvious fix that helps prevent someone from blasting the first pixel that turns the corner with an AWP. Similarly, some spots by bomb sites used to have tons of little nooks where players could hide and kill the CTs as soon as they started defusing. Now it seems like there are much less options which creates more meaningful choices from what I've seen as opposed to the old cheap shot peek-a-boo tactic.

It does feel a bit strange having updated maps where returning 1.6/CSS players have a HUGE advantage over new players in a game that is pretty hard to get into. Having a number of these small changes seems like a good way to lessen the advantage, even if it may only be by a small amount.

I'm also enjoying it more and more but I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to the longevity of the game though.

I'm kind of tempted to map for the game too! Would definitely be a de_ map though.

cs_assault, probably the map with the most remakes ever?

Started playing this again! Jebus, I love the little changes they made to the game. And I love the way they structured the Classic Competitive mode.

    Game is the tits!

I still miss the silencer attached to the colt, the need for buying ammo and kevlar in casual mode...
