Mafia 2Love this game, its sooo good.

Playing GTAIV right now, it's definitely fun but I enjoyed Mafia 2 more. Like the setting, story, and mechanics (there's some minute differences between them that are fairly obvious to those who've played both) far more than GTA, it also looks better

I wonder if they'll do a proper expansion or possibly mafia 3 in the "near" future.

Replaying FarCry 2. cause it's the best shooter of the last half decade.

Are you playing the same FarCry 2 I played?

I'm playing the one where you're in Africa and you have to be a total bad ass because the game doesn't give a fuck about you so you just have to survive and deal with it.

Playing on Infamous this time around and it's even better. You get like 2 bullets per weapon drop and take twice as much damage as Hardcore, which pretty much means you might as well not fight anyone at all. Swimming 2km's to bypass a couple checkpoints is pretty much the norm, because driving around is for idiots or people playing on easy. At some point a sniper is going to start shooting at you, and if it's at night, goodluck finding out where he is in time before you've wasted half your syrettes on this one asshole on a cliff somewhere. If you're lucky a nearby jeep won't try to run you over during all this, but you probably aren't, so you're likely fucked.

But I hear Bulletstorm gives you points for shooting guys who might fight back sometimes.

I got my silver star with the knife tonight in BC2. Fun times. I also got the eight kill streak medal for the first time. Not on the same runs, though. The killstreak was due to being assault, dropping ammo at my feet, and spamming the grenade launcher into a choke between the flag I was holding from an attic and the enemy spawn.

I also got the red dot sight for recon, which, on the semi-auto inaccurate sniper rifle, feels pretty good.

Got it as gift from a friend yesterday and it owns so far. Nintendo streamlined the game quite a bit: The pokecenter and the pokemart were merged in a single building, you choose your starter right away in the beginning of the game and the battle animations are nice and faster than in other games. The game also looks amazing. It has got to be one of the best looking RPGs in the DS:

That was a serious post. The Most Serious Post.

Once you get the pistol slot grenade launcher, 90% of Far Cry 2's problems just float away, leaving a fun brutal FPS in an open world jungle. It doesn't fix the sadly repetitive mission structure or how badly it sucks to get run over, but nothing's perfect, right?

Somehow I've been playing racing games lately. WTF how did that happen? Anyway...GT5...yesh. It's like car porn / a caRPG for Top Gear fans (as others here have already mentioned). And then Dirt2. Brilliant. I have a Forza game waiting to be played again...

I think the catchy W-hotel esque lounge music in the home screen have hooked me into GT5. [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif]

finnished the witcher a few days back. still remains one of the most fun, inspiring and frustrating game experiences i've had. in one of the final cutscenes i got slashed half to death by a greater brother while having a quiet conversation with one of the vizima guards lol. can't wait for the witcher 2!!!

Geralt is that hardcore he can choose to have a conversation whilst being attacked by something 3 times his size.

geralt is so badass, he does ballet when he wins a fistfight!

also: when you directly upgrade all you can on the igni sign and endurance, the game gets real easy, especially with the boss battles. almost every enemy is vulnerable to fire

Beat Demon's Souls yesterday, and I've got to say the ending was terrible. Its a good thing I really enjoyed the gameplay, me and some friends are going to work on newgame+ tomorrow probably...

Also playing Oblivion again. I'm surprised to say I enjoy it on xbox more than on PC... maybe its the achievements that keep me on some kind of path instead of getting completely distracted, bored, then starting over.

i thought the ending was good, pretty much concluding the whole greed-theme of the game. besides, maiden astraea was a pretty cool way to turn things on their head.

i've played dragon age 2 for 5-6 (?) hours and still haven't been able to equip a single piece of armor/weapon. it's either too high stat requirement or my character's can't use it. the combat system is pretty fun although there's no real tactical element to it that i can discern. the difficulty seems to come solely from number of enemies and their rank. Money seems completely useless outside of the first main quest, I have yet to discover a single merchant with anything worth buying.

i think it's funny that with bioware specializing in RPGs and all, the above-mentioned demon's souls shows better RPG gameplay elements than any of their earlier games (and demon's souls isn't really a "RPG"). most western RPGs can't hold a candle to that game. wouldn't it be nice to equip your character depending on the challenges that awaits you? rather than just going for whatever has the best stats. I guess Bioware's priorities lies with creating branching "epic" stories, perhaps too much for their own good.

About to lose internet at home for a while as I move house, so I'm going to have to stop playing World of Warcraft and build my reflexes back up. My copies of Arcana Heart 3 and the Pink Sweets / Muchi Muchi Pork bundle are here, but I have managed to spill coffee all over my arcade stick just in time.

If anyone here has heard of Arcana Heart 3 it’s probably because of the creepy otaku pandering and, while that certainly exists, it's also a surprisingly deep game. Probably the deepest commercially released fighter this generation, in fact, and it’s nice to see fighting games coming out that aren’t compromised with contrived comeback mechanics and grossly powerful option selects. But, no matter how I big it up, the Japanese sub-culture side of it is extremely prominent; I am playing as a 13 year old dog girl in her school gym kit, and the limited edition came with a ‘hand towel’ of the two main characters embracing each other... Should be ideal for small spills, anyway.

Muchi Muchi Pork is the sequel to Pink Sweets which is the sequel to Ibara which is the spiritual sequel to Battle Garegga and other classic Raizing shmups. These are all famous for having a completely counter intuitive play style once you start trying to 1CC (no continues, only way to play arcade games) or score well; there is an unholy Rank system that gradually increases difficulty as you perform well until it becomes impossible, so you need to perform ritual suicides funded by score extends, avoid powering up too much, etc. Weird but it works.
