I just think a "Thanks" button would be good. You don't even need to track them on the user page (Just have it on a per-post basis and not have them count towards anything).

That way you can give a Thanks to good advice, or something funny or a way of complementing the post.

Thanks would be cool. But a ratingsystem is more like friendpolitics

Thanks button from GA works great! People actually use it, and It always stay on your profile how much "thank yous" have you received.

not sure about a rating post thingie tho. And It would probably be a bitch to impletment... We're still waiting for another theme since we're still using the default one from phpbb3, which might make MapCore look "lame" to first comers.

To me, this theme is the mapcore theme, not the default phpbb theme ;D

Yeah, to you (us), but not for newcomers.

If you add a "Thanks" button i would love a "No Thanks" button associated to say "Thanks" in eot.

More seriously, if it's implemented, only the "Thanks" button would be cool to have, because it pull things between people in the good direction, it create links between members (even if in mapcore, as a little community, you know to who you are talking to; so in the end i don't really see the point to have such a system). If you disagree with something you just have to say it and argue why; because it's really frustrating for someone to have a depreciation without justification.

You could have a button in EoT that quoted the user in question and replies with the word "cocks" and an irrelevant 1900x1200 image macro from the totally underground 4chan, possibly repeated to the image limit. I demand efficiency, Thrik.

Post rating thing that Rick_D thinks about is exactly the same as what you see on Youtube, and it works.

This is my first mapcore post since a month of being sealed off from the internet.
