It's a rundown club for local goons and crackheads. Neverlasting neon signs are there to add another color.

THIS IS SPARTA (just my 300 pages comment)

I think the problem with the advert is that it doesn't shine enough.

Nice stuff Method, gotta agree with everyone about the 'XXX' sign though, needs to be one a surface higher up, like Kingpin

KP had those colored square neon signs everywhere:

Do you suggest to move it higher?

But your map is inside/underground, not outside in an open street. Thats why it doesn't fit.

A little sideproject i've been working on for a few days. I'm not quite happy with the lighting and I still have to add a few things. W-poly peaks at 1200 when you're standing on the bridge looking towards the base(which won't happen much since the flow of the map goes the other way), but I'm planning to null texture all unseen faces.

JeanPaul : It's actually outside. Hence the windows are looking outside. The sky is very dark.

Method, I think your map has a great asylum/abbandoned place atmosphere but the redlight district idea sucks.

It's not a level, I was just testing glow textures using neon signs.

Inspired by ''The Stand'' (a book by Stephen King) I started to map again. Some of you may recognize the environment (note: it was not my goal to exactly recreate the books location, I just got inspired by it). I made it with some custom assets for DoD:S (I'll credit with release) but it is for Counterstrike: Source. Not sure yet how the gameplay will turn out to be. It's far from completed and after testing the gameplay, the map may undergo severe changes.

P.S: I would use ULH.com but they don't provide thumbnail links and I don't know how to create them myself tbqhwywtfbbq.

    Nice athmo, killertomato .

A little something I'm working on... fell in love with the early 1920's.

Gotta love your feeling for scenery

Buildings could have a little bit more detail (windowframes > *maybe white concrete or something*, rounded corners, overlays and brick walls less repaeting) and in the first pic there seems to be an traintrack overlay not working for you.

As for the rest I think you did a fckn beautiful job.

very nice, although the design seems a bit too futuristic for the age of the textures. it seems like in the 19th century they wouldnt build stuff that way. i love those kind of scens though.

Good idea on the window frames.

It's very WIP, actually all you see on those shots has been made yesterday.

On the futuristic aspect - well, people were far more advanced in the outgoing 19th century than you might expect.

This "Cable Ingles" has been built in 1904, while this Ropeway ..

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... t_1917.jpg

.. in my city started regular traffic in 1884.

So yeah, I think this should come quite close to a 1920's scenario .
