I was thinking of having spotlights shine on the wall that is on the far right of the screen... The lights wil be on the ground shining at the top of the wall - I think that'd be neat with the train going by and everything (yes, there will be a train running past the platform).

I'll try soem things out and get back to you guys tomarrow.

ny subways are actually very birght, i think your proglem is the blurryness of the light. if you look in the picture, everything is lit including the ceiling, the one thing that stands out is that the pillars cast a nice shadow, you should try to work on getting them to cast shadows from the light on the left

i'd recommend looking at the subways in max payne, they did an excellent job

I don;t suppose anyone knows how to get a train moving in HL2 Single player? I'm having a wee bit of trouble getting it to work.

Erm, sorry a bit off but I've gotten the damned thing to move - but it's not facing the right direction... it's like inside a wall....

use the little directional dial to orient it. Yeah, trains are a pain in the ass. They take way too much work. They're buggy. They fuck up multiplayer. But for some masochistic reason, Valve keeps them around.

Better to have trains that are a pain in the ass than to not have them at all.

What would you achieve by taking them out? Why would it ever even occur to Valve to take them out?

there is a flag that you can check that says soemthing along the lines of fixed orientation or somthing

Vivi, fletch - which entities am I supposed to play with to fix this?

Also, firechamp - that looks fairly decent. Keep it going! My only crit however, is the texture you are using for the railings(or what have you) on the 2nd floor, the texture just doesn't fit.

Sorry, I should have used the "quote" tags. This is one of Skullhozer's shots from the page before, not mine.

Also, it is FrieChamp, not Fire...

I've never mapped for hl1, so you'll have to forgive me for not knowing what the clip texture looks like! Sorry I mistyped your name as well! Arg!

EDIT: No worries fellas, my train now works as it should.

    ROFLCOPTER

Look's a lot better Mabufo, like Bic said you should take a look at Max Payne's subway, also I'd recommend looking at Silent Hill 3's subway as that's another well designed one.

    Frie: Old school HL ftw

Trains must be constructed facing east (in the Top viewport of Hammer, this is facing right) otherwise they will be pointing the wrong direction in-game. They will turn themselves to face the correct direction.
