I dont understand how you guys think the gameplay, the core shooter gameplay is dull?

The repeditive driving is dull, I'll agree with you there if thats the case, but I do really wish it were just a fully linear game with driving sequences in between; maybe a couple rail shooting sections to add variety.

How far in the campaign are you? Once you get to Dead City/Mutant Bash TV the game gets quite good. It is admittedly pretty flat up until that point. I think they had all their newly graduated level designers working on the early levels of the game and brought in the seasoned guys for the latter part.

The game just doesn't require me to use any interesting strategies to overcome my obstacles, no interesting puzzles in my way. No particularly interesting weapons.

Only part I can remember making me use an interesting tactic would be the dead city part where you are getting swamped, there it payed off to use a turret.

Are you playing the game on normal difficulty? I would say Hard is a bare-bones minimum difficulty unless you're new to the whole shooting dudes with guns thing.

Agree with you completely on the lack of puzzles. Valve has had such a good track record with these, why would they drop the ball here???

I finished the game some days ago, it's a fucking piece of shitThe graphics are crappy and buggy, the story is so laughable even CoD looks elaborate in comparison, the AI is fucking retarded, you can't move a damn thing on the map, the gameplay is a shameless console port (durh durh durh I've forced auto-aim cause I can't have a nice input device durh durh durh) and the mission are boring.

And worst of all it's 18go FOR 6 FUCKING HOURS, WHAT THE FUCK ?!

In the end I'm glad I didn't pay for it

It takes guts to bash something like that and in the end openly say he didn't even fucking pay for it, what a fucktard.

I like the description in the steam page.

RAGE is a groundbreaking first-person shooter set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, leaving a ravaged world behind.

No it isn't. It is good, but not that.

Yeah but "RAGE is a good first-person shooter" would probably not sell very well.. learn2pr

I'm willing to forgive them the clever pun of calling a game about an asteroid hitting the earth "ground-breaking".

wow, you guys are right, what a terrible ending! It was like a slap to the face. It was worse than Bioshocks end, I take it back Dux, heh. The game itself was really fun up until that though. Also finished in 12 1/2 hours, did all races and some of the side quests. Played alot of the magic the gathering game and some of the others too.

The game went downhill for me the moment I got to the eastern wasteland, seriously, it was all over the place.

Every quest was a fetch quest, the only usefull weapons for the other half of the game are propably the pop rockets and swing sticks (I bought 100 of them and pretty much used only that for the last 3 or so levels lol)

Ending was terrible, the quest just before it as well. Jackals were annoying as fuck :S

I liked the first part of the game a lot but if not for the artwork I dont think I would finish it.

If you're not enjoying it now then I wouldn't recommend you force yourself through it for the end as it's really bad. Just savour the good moments you've had with it.

Yeah I'll stop now and maybe pick it up again if they patch in a decent multi player that does not include vehicles.

UPDATE: Doom 4 "Indefinitely Postponed" Following Rage's Disappointing LaunchA source claiming to be close to the publishers of the recently-launched Rage has told Kotaku that, at a recent "company wide" meeting held in Dallas, Bethesda and parent company Zenimax made the decision to "indefinitely postpone" development of Doom 4.

Pete Hines, responding to our request for comment this morning, says no game in development has been postponed.

"We don't comment on unannounced games and DOOM 4 hasn't been announced (though I appreciate that id has previously referenced DOOM 4)," Hines said. "Games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed – indefinitely or otherwise."

Despite having been first announced back in 2008, Doom 4 has been on the backburner at developers id while work was completed on multiplatform shooter RAGE, which was released earlier this month to decidedly mixed reviews. While Crecente enjoyed it (and I'm digging it as well), the game's repetitive nature and numerous technical issues left it falling well short of many people's expectations.

The apparent source says that Zenimax and Bethesda made the decision based on the "the issues and reviews" surrounding RAGE's launch, which in their eyes has demonstrated "a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id".

Remember that, before you get too invested in this, at the moment the news is entirely unconfirmed. We've contacted Bethesda for comment and clarification, and will update if we hear back.
