fuck me that looks incredible....

"Living, breathing, cinematic experience" made me laugh
-
The animations on characters look strange, or is it just me?
-
Looks gorgeous~~
Also, John Goodman is awesome but his voice doesn't really fit that character IMO, as in when I see that character his voice doesn't feel like it could come from him :G
-
same... I always think about it when watching the trailers

-
Incredible set pieces

It looks incredible, looks like ID are resetting the goalposts of graphical detail just as they've done many times before. Crysis about to be dethroned

[Blocked Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/deathcrush/rage_is_the_new_graphics_king.jpg]I doubt it really
. After seeing the Carmack talk, some of the blurry screenshots they released and how in the trailers they only show setpice/far shots, I feel textures are going to be blurrrrrry. Carmack even said so himself. Granted, it does still all look nice all together, but Crysis 2's graphical fidelity can't be matched I think, especially with the new updates and DX11. -
Sure, they have graphical fidelity with Crysis 2... But the environment is pretty boring. It's just a city, not exactly hard to re-create a city is it! (I'm not doubting the amount of time that went into it). Rage at least has its own world and art style, and I would much rather work on something more fictional than city-building.
Rage > Crysis 2.

Oh dude.. you have no idea what you're talking about. Making an intact city or recent destroyed city is much harder than making post-apocaliptic or natural environments like a jungle.
On a tottaly destroied environment (like post apocaliptic) you put a rubble pile in the middle of the road, and it's ok, you put a destroyed pillar in the middle the road, and it's ok, you get away with a lot of stuff, cos it's destroyed.
Same with jungle environments, you quickly brush a few trees, bushes and grass, and shit looks real.
Recreating a city, you need to follow rules, loads of them. Something as small as putting a street sign in the middle of the sidewalk, instead of the edge, and you'll see how it will stand out like a sore thumb, the eye can tell in a second there's something wrong there; that's something you can't have on more stylized / natural / destroyed environments.

they both look utterly awesome in their own way. from what I have seen of rage the art style seems more cohesive though. but that's just because they have an actual theme, "the real world" is not really a theme, more a goalpost.
-
Yeah that's what I was getting at, I didn't word myself very well. I'm just saying it's more fun to work on something artistic rather than just re-creating the real world. That shit aint art yo.
Still, Crysis does look good and I know a lot of hard work went into it.

-
