Why the rage? This is exactly the same as the TF2 store, only that in this case you will buy/sell items directly to players. Dark:

By no SP Mode, I meant you have to be online to play the Single Player. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not a fan of online DRM, Ubi even does it :/ I'm always online, but I just feel for other people who don't have very good internet connections or want to play these games on the go. (laptop) I would just have to say in their case, flame on and don't buy it.

lol blizzard fans got fucked in the ass [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif]

Seriously though, whereas I do understand why they are doing it, I think it's a bad move.

Then again, when HL2 got released and valve made you install steam AND have a internet connection, we all bitched about it, and it turned out to be the greatest thing ever.

yeah i don't see the big deal. it's a dickish move for those without net connection but i wonder what % of their fanbase that actually applies to these days.

as for the trading thing, is that a big deal? people do it now, just outside of the game, so blizzard have implemented it inside the game. great move.

however, all the butthurt surrounding D3 I am not surprised that people will whine about anything they can.

    Who plays Diablo single player?

    Who expected modding support?

People buy and sell items in Diablo II (I made £30 off a magic hat) so what's wrong with it being made safer? Activision making money?

Has this fanbase ever reacted positively to anything ever?

I do. I never found rushing through quests to get loot and leveling up like a madman very fun. I played Diablo 1/2 for the atmosphere, co-op completely kills it for me.

Same here. I think some people are misinterpreting this a bit. You will still be able to play the singleplayer campaign alone, you will just need to be logged in on battle.net.

I think that the game could have an offline mode though, even if that meant never being able to use offline characters on battle.net. On the other hand, if there's an option to sync your characters with the cloud that would be a big plus for being online 100% of the time

But even if you wanted to play it single player the only sensible way was online in a private game. Because if you do decide to play co-op later (or PvP, lulz), you would have to make a whole new character.

I couldn't agree more. I think everything they've done so far reeks of professionalism and awesomeness. Connected to b.net while I play? sure, why not? Even my phone is connected to the internet while I use it...

Also, I think that they have taken a step in the right direction when it comes to visuals. It looks to me like things looks darker and grittier somehow. Ofcourse the desert level and the jungle levels are full of colors, but there was that forest level with the creeping fog

I'm really excited for this game again now. It is a bit annoying that you have to be connected to the internet. I know when I moved house and had to wait like a week for the internet, I really enjoyed playing older singleplayer games that I had lying around. Kinda sucks I won't be able to do that with Diablo. I also loved playing over LAN with my brother when the net was down, shame that's not gonna be included either

Can't play Diablo III while flying through the air. If only we had real problems.

Sensible to you because you want to play online. I had no qualms with making a new character for online play in D2 as you needed to do that anyway when the ladder reset. If I felt like grinding until the end of time, my bnet character was waiting for me. If I wanted to emerge my self in the game and make my self believe the story, my single player characters were there.

I personally don't care about having to always be connected to play the game, single player or not, but I also think it's plain stupid. Internet is never 100% reliable and you shouldn't be held hostage by outages for a game mode that requires no connection to a server.

My enthusiasm for this game is meh at the moment.
