    Looking nice.

The playground pic was cool but it's really hard to actually make most objects out, it really blurs into quite a mess, but I'm sure it's different when you actually play it Didn't even really play the first one, just tested it out for a short while.

Why have so many of you declined to play this brilliant game for more than 20 or so minutes it's so good

I tried Stalker as well. It continues to be, from what I remember, the number 1 on my "Where are all the colors gone" list of offenders. I really saw the beginning of that game as a prime example of a game that doesn't know whether it goes for realism or not. It's right in between and I guess that makes it fall even harder in the uncanny valley for me. That's one of the main things I like about my current game Prince of Persia, and other upcoming titles like Mirror's Edge or Bionic Commando. Give me that over any Stalker look alike. These games have embraced an artistic style and are sticking to it.

Did you try blowing the thumbnail up? Everything looks clear to me.

Yeah, what I'm saying is that I find it hard to focus my eyes anywhere at first. Which can also be pretty cool I guess when it comes to gameplay I would imagine it can be very hard to see the enemies sometimes so you'd have to be very careful. Dunno if the first Stalker played much like that sneaky camo-action?

yes - stalker's outdoors had cool moments and the underground/indoor stuff pretty much sucked (at least for me). The playground seems to me more like a render-movie than an actual game. although not being technical that perfect I prefer the playground scene in the beginning of half-life 2 in terms of "what's the matter here? - where to look first?"

it sounds like you're slagging the game off just to slag it off.

stalker indoor areas weren't bad, but they creeped me out. i still consider x18 to be the scariest section i have ever come across in a game. anything that leaves such mark of immersion is definitely worth the time.

I agree with you there. Those labs were so scary.

I remember the one part where you start to walk along a long corridor, and one of those psychic people enters the corridor behind you. That was scary as hell!
