Aliens: Colonial Marines - WTF Happened!?!

I think Aliens Rez was actually not bad...until the crazy alien/human baby thing...oh man...that was aweful and it spoiled the movie.

Still, it was an interesting evolution to see Ripley reincarnated in this badass sort of way. Alien3 was less interesting obviously, but ALIENS was one of the best movies in the history of humanity (or something) so it had big shoes to fill. blah blah blah we could analyze the Alien movie saga to death...back to Gearbox's game...whatever the game is and however the graphics turn out I don't really give a shit as long as it gives me an authentic taste of the colonial marines expereince from ALIENS. That is an ambitious task to say the least. I am honestly skeptical that any developer could really get it right but prove me wrong GBX...prove me wrong and make it kick glorious ass. "OH YOU WANT SOME OF THIS???" and so forth...

You know, I really hope they make unique characters that are not copies of any character from Aliens. Of course that will be hard, and it's not to say that they can't be similar in ways, but it would be to their credit(GBX) to create something new in stead of recycling it. I don't really want to hear anyone say "That's it man! Game over man! Game over!" in that Hudson sort of way. I guess I'm just saying I want freshness and believable characters. Of course I'm looking forward to this game more than any other I've heard of for this/next year, maybe even in the last year too.

wow, nice purchase. I've been wanting one of those for a long time, just never could convince myself it was worth it. The 5 disks of extras was very intriguing though. Just out of curiosity, are they the same disks that come with the special editions? I have the collector's edition of Aliens and it came with a disk dedicated to the making of, I'm wondering if that's basically the same disk.

It has everything you could possibly want to know from the writers, producers, actors and special effects guys. Loads of concept art to look at, still images from the sets, behind the scenes footage, scenes from the make up department, special effects department on how they make the suits and how they made the weapons, everything you could wish for.
