Taylor Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Played it for an hour, it crashed, and now refuses to load. Immersive. Quote
Sentura Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 i've heard about these crashes from all over, but havent gotten them myself? are they limited to a specific console or is it just random? Quote

Seldoon182 Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 I finally bought the bundle PS3+GTA4 and played all the day on the MP mode with my two friends and its was freaking AWESOME as hell ! The game looks like a San Andreas downgrate (about the features) with a new engine but the MP is really what I was attempt on this game ! Thanks @ Rockstars ! Quote

Buddy Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 The game looks like a San Andreas downgrate (about the features) with a new engine What? I think he meant that they cut some stuff You could do in SA. Btw I heard R* is working on an expansion now and theres no sight of PC version coming soon... Quote
Thrik Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 The detail and capabilities in the world are definitely not downgraded from San Andreas. There have, however, been removals of the more annoying aspects of San Andreas such as the lame body building, etc. Quote
Thrik Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 I thought the entire meta-customisation aspect of San Andreas was shit — and the eating/stamina stuff was even worse. I'd take a strongly written character with bags of personality over a puppet that I can customise every last detail of any day. Quote

Even though I have always known GTA is a great game series with millions of fans, I just never got into them despite owning GTA3 and GTA:SA. I played each for a little while then just gave up. This game has brought me back. I love it. I've played it on both PS3 and 360 haven't seen any crashes or hickups. It's game of the year so far for me, though I am very much excited to play Lego Indy. skdr Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 I've been playing this over the weekend now and finally hit the last mission (I guess it's the last). This game is fucking amazing in every aspect. I've been enjoying every minute of it. If you have completed the game or almost done with it, answer these questions: DO NOT READ THESE IF YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE GAME. - Which one of the McReary brothers did you kill? - Did you save or kill Darko? - Did you kill Dimitri or take the money? - What were the consequences doing one of these? Furyo Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Here is what I wrote in another forum, that pretty much sums the game up as far as I'm concerned: Well the hype certainly played a role in this game getting a 10, but there are many many frustrating moments for me that make me switch off the console...for at least 1 hour before I get back to it. Some very obvious things are missing from the new combat system, most noticeably the fact that even if I have half the LC police forces on my tail and have a single target to kill as a mission, that target should absolutely always take priority when I aim, not the cops. I don't care if I die, but I can't stand having to try and complete missions more than once. Reviews say the last 10 missions suddenly take a huge increase in difficulty over the rest, and if that's the case I'm really NOT looking forward to getting there. Story line so far is a gem, and the missions are varied, but the few glitches that make you back track your sorry ass through police fire, because an NPC thought it was cool to get stuck along some ..!...!...!...!.ing wall, and this combat system that will irritate you to the point of throwing your controller through your 17th floor window makes this an automatic 9/10 for me. With that said, there are also some very dodgy animations (running down stairs for instance) and some glitches and a lot of popping up. No crash or show stoppers. The only thing I'm missing from San Andreas is the bike. Man that was my favorite ride in that game Quote
JohnC Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Okay then. It's good to hear SOMEONE say it's not perfect. To me this is all an echo of Vice City's release. Quote

Just finished it after about 60 hours of playtime (Really took my time, no rushing ) - Francis - Didn't shoot Darko - Killed that prick - Jimmy Pegarino shot Kate at Roman's wedding and you had to go after him for revenge Definitely gonna play it again and do the opposite of what I did my first time through. I still keep getting more and more amazed by this game, it is hard to believe that human beings put this thing together, it is as far as I'm concerned in the same league of awe as huge engineering constructions, things that are so impressive that it feels absurd that humans put it together. It is one of those games that has been transported to the present from the future. San Andreas was probably my favorite game before this, and it easily pushed it aside, absurdly good through and through. Oh and the MP is pretty epic fun as well, some absolutely crazy stuff goes on when you get into a Free Mode server with enough people. Played earlier with a bunch of people from work, lots of laughing Quote
PhilipK Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Woh! has it even been 60h since it was released No idea what I am on atm but it's grown a lot on me. I didn't really enjoy it too much in the beginning but now it's really fun. Quote
