Blunkka Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 These are some of the photos that I took on our trip to the Alps. A panorama shot (quite big) Quote
Belgarion Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Wow. That's really awesome. I wish I could go out there. Maybe someday. Great pics, especially 09. Reminds me a lot of Ansel Adams. Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 Great pics! Really inspiring stuff! Quote
e-freak Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 Reminds me a lot of Ansel Adams. don't know but I can't see the resamblence here none the less great shots have you been to the italian/french part of the alps or how does it come you have the sea on the fotos? Quote
Belgarion Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 That shot reminds me of this one. I like how the clouds obscure the peaks of the mountains. Quote
Blunkka Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 Never seen pics by Adams before this but I see what you're meaning. have you been to the italian/french part of the alps or how does it come you have the sea on the fotos? That sea picture is actually from the Baltic sea. We traveled from Helsinki to Rostock, and after that we sat over 20 hours in a bus driving through Germany to France. It's quite annoying to sit that long in a bus but it's a lot cheaper than flying + you get to see pretty nice landscapes. Quote
e-freak Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 cool route! have you anymore pictures of the travelling itself? Quote
Blunkka Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 Sadly no. We only had a few short stops and I didn't bother taking pictures through the window of a moving bus as they would have sucked anyway. Quote
Phopojijo Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Infrared? Just picked up a Hoya R72 for my Canon (gasp I know, I have a Canon that can actually do infrared...) Powershot A620 {Hacked Raw of course}. Looks nice. Quote
Belgarion Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Phopojijo, I suggest you look up Ansel Adams and read about him. His photos are phenomenal. Probably the most well known photographer in history. Quote
Phopojijo Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 that's just bw not irOdd, wonder why the trees tend to pop in frame then. Quote
e-freak Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 snow is the frame. If you want to know about Anel Adams I suggest you read his "beginner" books like - "The Negative", "The Positive" or "The Camera" and so on. He writes a book about one topic as thick as other books are who claim them selves "everything about fotography" Quote
Belgarion Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 that's just bw not irOdd, wonder why the trees tend to pop in frame then. They're just covered with snow. The trees in the foreground don't pop at all. Quote
Phopojijo Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Yea I realize the trees in the foreground don't pop at all -- I was referring to the ones just in front of the rock. The rest could have been clouded, removing the infrared blooming. But yes I realize it's not infrared. Quote
