Teppesh Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 This morning I actually heard Nadder on Commu,,,oh, I mean Democracy Now. I will say, he's an old school libbie, doesn't have the socialist bent that most of the democrats do. If Bush loses, I want Nadder to win. Of course it depends if he's on the ballet, apparently the Dems have put big bucks in to make sure he isn't on the ballet, something like 50 high priced lawyers a state. The way Nadder put is was, "if it was the republicans who were dropping that much money I would be completly off the ballet."LOL
The Postman Posted October 5, 2004 Author Report Posted October 5, 2004 Teppesh, not to say you sound like a moron for comparing Democrats with Communists. But yes, you sound like a moron for comparing Democrats with Communists. Just like Republicans are Nazis, am I right? Also, it's spelled "ballot" not "ballet," we're not going to a dance. Edit: Tonight is the night of the second debate. If I'm not mistaken. For those that want it concise: 10/05/04 @ 8pm CST / 9pm EST Edwards/Cheney debate
Teppesh Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 What, there are alot of democrats that have a socialists bent. Kerry=universal healthcare universal healthcare=socialized medicine. That is just one example, their are others. Understand, I am not one of those "communist conspiracy" types, it is just that over the past 20 years or so it seems like the democrats have taken a more socialistic bent. The dems have always been fractitious, though less so in recent years and I know that a number of the minority (including the 'dixiecrats' and Nadder's camp) factions resent the current domination. I also apoligies fer' th'spellin.
von*ferret Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 its true that democrats are more bent on governtment provided things, like healthcare. Which makes them out to be more socialist, which is on the wya to communism. Which is also what France is I think. And we DONT want to be france do we? Basicaly keep democrats out of office if you get MY opinion.
Urban Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 damn it.. i missed nader on the radio again.. (lol, ive never heard him speak).. only cause i cant stand democracy now... i cant listen to it for longer then 20 sec before having to want to shove a pen in my ear... y'all make very good points about cheney edwards... but in all honestly... this debate wont go down in the history books unless cheney or edwards do something so off the mark... how many vp debates do people remember?... thats my point.. they are lost in the attic of time should be good though... not alot of companys can do what Halliburton can do... thats why they got the job (oh and dick runs the whitehouse ) edit: know thy enemy
InsaneSingingBlender Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 that shirt is hilaroudosuossssss
mikezilla Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 i think that shirt was made by a democrat to make republicans look stupid. and then republicans bought it and made themselves look stupid. self fulfilling prophecy.
InsaneSingingBlender Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 i saw the funniest thing in my life a couple days ago. it was cameron diaz on oprah talking about legalizing rape and if you dont want to legalize rape you shouldnt vote, because they had a right to their bodies. and oprah and all the other women on that show that hate men had tears in their eyes and were nodding. i laughed sooooo hard and of course bill o'reily made fun of them.
The Postman Posted October 6, 2004 Author Report Posted October 6, 2004 zilla has no sense of humor Zilla is spot on, and a poignant voice of clarity in this recovering thread

Theres no way france is becomeing a communist country. i dont see how you can be against government provided things like healthcare. It disgusts me that a rich person can get better heath care than a poor person (and those born poor). Same with schooling. For those things i would be only happy to give my share to the government. Thats what socialism is about. Helping out the poor and giving everyone thesame chances in life, not sharing everything and full government control on evry single thing
insta Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Explain to me again, what's so bad about France? I really don't get why most Americans seem to hate France.
JynxDaddy Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 I also dont get why they hate France, the only 'reasons' ive heard is; They eat frogs They got invaded by germany (making them stupid?) They are anti-war
Urban Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 http://factcheck.org/article.aspx?docID=272 cheney needs to get his facts before giving out a url about facts im to tired to give you my idea of the debate but i say for now.. its a win in my eyes for cheney(im so partisan anyways.. i dont think wonderboy could of said much to change my mind.. ).. even know i hear again.. no peoples minds were changed cause of the debate.. it makes me feel better that atleast the puppetmaster has some speaking skills
von*ferret Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 The reason why socialised medicine fails is because all the money is spent on making sure everyone has free healthcare, it forgets about someone who really needs advanced medical aid. In those areas it fails. For instance if someone is really in need of some seious medical aid in canada, they seem to come to America. Why? Because we can treat them, while they are put on a never ending list of waiting at canada. You can not tell me that someone who needs aid immediately can not get it. It is a law in this country that if you go into an emergency room, you are to be given aid no matter your race, financial status, or where you're from. It is also against the law to ask for such information. So to think you'll never get aid if you really need it is a lie. On the debate I think Cheney won solid. Edwards seemed like a bubbling toy who repeats "kerry" "kerry" "KERRY" through out his responses. Even on the questions where it was specified not to use your running mates name, he coudln't stop spitting out Kerry's name. He came off as way to cocky, and way to repetitive. When Cheney was confronted with a question he, again in my opinion, put down a very definitive answer. For instance a question about bussinesses, Cheney listed all the things needed to make it run well. He had the expereince and knoledge before hand and presented his opinions in a very clean and unquestionable way. Where as I found that Edwards found more glee in putting out pot shots at the other canidate than he did answering and fullfilling the question. Who's not being candid?
