Just picked up Ninja Gaiden DS, pretty awesome so far :ninja:

worth picking up or no?

It's probably the best DS game I've played so far, (keep in mind I haven't played a ton). It's really close to the console NG games too, even with the stylus. You pull off all of your moves, except block, with just the gestures so it's pretty specific with what it wants you to do, just scribbling on screen won't produce very good results (at least with the tougher enemies). Not saying you couldn't fluke your way through a few areas, but generally you're going to need to use all the moves at your disposal when they mix up the enemy types.

Also it looks really great, Ryu's animations are pretty slick, and even the music had be humming after I finished (no joke). So yeah, definitely worth it in my opinion, though I've only played the first 2 chapters and a bit. I hear it's short, but I could totally see myself going through it again on the harder difficulty.

- Wii Bowling when I need to brainstorm crazy ideas

- 360 Rainbow 6 Vegas 2. I loved the first R6Vegas. So far I'm liking this one too, though it certainly doesn't reinvent shooter games. Still...it's fun

- Tried some 360 Frontlines:Fuel of War. I like it. Don't love it. Like it.

- Guitar Hero II/III and Rock Band just cause.

- Still play some WoW from time to time to help my guild run through Kara, mainly to help the nuggets or help my cousin lvl up his shadow priest but other than that the i'm thinking of sitting out till the expansion...or not.

Too much work to do to really play anything in depth...want to play more!!!

ill give it a whirl then. if you need some other ds recommendations, you should try megaman zx and megaman zx advent. if you were a fan of the games on the snes, you'll love these ones. i know i did :D

I didn't even know there were Megaman games on the DS. I seriously get overwhelmed with the DS library sometimes and end up ignoring it for long stretches. There's just so much there worth picking up if I look close enough.

But, who can pass up Megman? :megaman:

Oh since my 360 should be going in for repair I decided to buy GH III for the Wii simply because (1) it has a wireless guitar but so does GHIII for 360 thus (2) my wife will actually play it on the Wii. And, since we are trying to get up our place in Tahoe for some vacation this summer it is a lot easier to pack a Wii and a guitar controller that seperates than a 360 and one that doesn't. :ninja: Oh it was cheap at Costco so wtf right?

After a few false starts, I finally got into Metal Gear Solid 3. I'm about 8 hours in and have played about maybe 2 of those :P

At first I was really frustrated with most everything, like the first few attempts at playing it but things are getting a bit better. I like the more interior locations for some reason, much more reminiscent of the first couple games and really narrowing your focus on how to approach the area. I'm thinking the game doesn't work as well in the more open, exterior jungle areas but I don't think I've played enough of them to tell yet (I just beat 'The Fear' boss).

The cut scenes still bite at my ass but I'm getting used to the flow of it. This stuff didn't bother me as much with the other games but they seem more frequent and longer. I'd much rather have codec scenes, as they're more direct and tend be more insightful than watching whatever the hell the cut-scenes are supposed to be offering. They really have gotten progressively more retarded since MGS1 but whatever.

Also, all the movie references with the Para-Medic make my skin crawl. :(
