curman Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Hey, I dunno if any moderator wants to move this post, I wasn't sure where exactly I could post this.. Anyway, I open up Source SDK. I choose Hammer Editor, and I can't map for normal Half-Life 2, CSS, anything. - I have CSS/Half-Life 2 installed, I was told "Play them for awhile." So I did, 1 hour each. Still, nothing showed up. - I've refreshed SDK Content - I've Reset Game Configurations - I've 'deleted local content' and reinstalled. Anyone have any idea what I can do here? Do I need to reinstall STEAM, or is there a folder I can delete to reset all this?
Quakis Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Try putting "-engine ep1" in the launch options for the SDK. Otherwise, you could just load up Steam, then manually go open up Hammer through the Steam folders (bin folders for specific games in sourcesdk).
curman Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 Wow thanks a lot that worked. I wonder what the hell caused that..
e-freak Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Different Engine Versions and a stricty parting SDK?
Nexus Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 everytime i try to opent the model browser hammer crashed.
neotic Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I'm a having a related problem, thought it was best to post here rather than a new thread. Anyways, I've been on vacation lately and I just got back. I open Hammer and it loads fine. I open a .vmf, the loading bar progress and bam, Hammer just disappears. If I reopen Hammer it asks me if I wanted to load the last vmf that didn't save correctly. If I do that it crashes again, tried this with several other vmfs. Any solutions?
skdr Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 1) Open Hammer 2) Open new VMF file 3) Change camera's 3d rendering from shaded texture surfaces to textured surfaces 4) Open your map 5) Profit
Alphapack Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Try putting "-engine ep1" in the launch options for the SDK. Otherwise, you could just load up Steam, then manually go open up Hammer through the Steam folders (bin folders for specific games in sourcesdk). I have tried what was suggested above to my SDK shortcut and it still does not open. What else can be the problem? OOH startup area not shortcut!
Punky Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Over at Interlopers we have a thread about known SDK errors, maybe you should look there for all your problems...
