Hourences
So, since I need to release a new level every week... We have released our HOLP map pack for Unreal Tournament 3: HOLP (Hardcore Oldskool Low Poly) # 9 Levels in total, 5 CTF and 4 DM levels. # The focus is on great gameplay. # Hardcore oldskool (think UT1) levels with minimum clutter, maximum gameplay, and somewhat decent albeit outdated visuals. # Nearly all contributing level designers are professionally active within the games industry and all of them are European. # Involved were Hourences, Sefyra, h0ok, Sabrewulf, Sjosz, Hazel, Slainchild, Barballs. # Great perfomance. # Wide range of themes and colors. # No or limited bloom, depth of field, motion blur, normal maps, and so on. ftp://ftp.unreal.ie/unreal.ie/ut3/mappa ... P_Pack.zip - Thanks to Unreal.ie - 191 MB http://nuky.geektips.org/HOLP_Pack.zip The purpose of the pack really is pure gameplay, with minimum visuals. Walls are pretty empty, corridors are cubic, etc. UT3 seems to focus on vehicle combat, and we wanted to bring the classic gametypes back into the spotlights, and get people and clans back into the game with simple and to the point but addicting levels. I made Noca (floorplan started by Sabrewulf), Haco, and Lopo.
static07
thank you for these great maps imo all these maps outdo Midway's in a gameplay pov. And we all know, Gameplay > looks
Minos
Ah nice old school maps, I like the colors a lot! But why are the shadows so bland in those maps? Was it done on purpose? Maybe you could also post more pics for those who hasn't got UT3

Hourences
There is quite a bit of ambient going to make sure everything is visible. We still have more shadows than UT3 retail levels tho Bigger pictures would only make it look more ugly:P You need to play it, gameplay! Avego
I also like how you pointed the level designers are European as quality assurance. Brilliant, shame I don't have the game.
Solidus
Thank you for putting together this map pack, these levels are so much fun to play. So much more enjoyable then many of the retail maps, all of the horrible UT3 vehicle levels make me sick. Oh and I bought both your books, hope they are a fun read
Nurb
Lopo and Hosh are played in the clanbase ctf scene atm. Both very good maps (allthough a mate of mine hates defending on lopo, but thats just him ). The community really needed this pack because among the ctf-maps that shipped with the game there wheren't many that came up to a competitive gaming standard. I only wish there where more maps that successfully mixed competitive gaming with great visuals. As an artist I dont want to be stuck in UT99 when playing UT3 even though as a cup player I do like not getting stuck in one of the *insert ridiculous amount* of static meshes Great mappack though
