FrieChamp
Electronic Arts today officially announced Tiberium, a squad-based first person shooter set in the Command & Conquer world. Set release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 late next year, Tiberium has you playing as Ricardo Vega, a "Forward Battle Commander." As Vega, you take control of multiple infantry, armor, and air squads as you fend off an alien invasion (and presumably the forces of Nod) in single-player as well as multiplayer modes. Executive producer Chris Plummer of developer EA Los Angeles noted, "After two years of pre-production, it is exciting to finally reveal this game and its rich fiction to the world. We've put a lot of effort into evolving the tactical shooter experience by taking core gameplay compulsions like commanding, choice and dominating your enemies and delivering them in first-person. Some of the weapons and mechanics are truly innovative for a first-person game. We're very proud to be part of a project that has the potential to really make a mark on the canon of sci-fi fantasy fiction." http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/50441 New C&C fps game :megamon: I heard rumors about this already at the beginning of this year, I'm wondering what engine this will run on...Renegade multiplayer was actually quite fun (on LAN parties)
Thrik
Is it the same team as C&C 3? Because that's the best game released in 2007.
Steppenwolf
That screenshot looks kinda lame.
Cybbe
I hope it will face more success than Renegade did.. Renegade was actually quite fun.. but since it kinda flopped, it was hard to enjoy it with noone to play it with :x And it kinda sucks alone, though the single player campaign did entertain me for a while

Thrik
C&C 3 was great. If you disagree you didn't play it.
dux
It was ok but nothing amazing Company of heroes though...
KoKo5oVaR
Nice choice of name for the game though, you can immediately tell at the first glance that it will be full of innovations. C&C 3 was great. If you disagree you didn't play it. Did you tried it in multiplayer ? :monocle:
Thrik
Yes, but like always I got my ass absolutely annihilated and never did so again. It was just the SP I loved, which is why I loved the older C&C games too. It felt like a proper sequel in the old days (except prettier) and weirdly I really liked that. Company of Heroes was of course good, but that was 2006.
dux
Nothing will ever beat Tiberian Sun for sheer nostalgic single player memories. Good times, good times
KoKo5oVaR
The C&Cs and red alerts are indeed pretty cool in SP, i've got great memories of fighting giant ants in redalert :tesla, i grant you that. But damn, the multiplayer of every single one is always completely unbalanced, just try GLA against the Chineses in C&C:generals to see what i mean.. Erratic
But, best game of 2007? Just seems like a strange title to pick out considering how nuts this year has been with great games. (mario galaxy takes the cake btw)' Unless you're a huge C&C fan and it just hits home. ONLY POSSIBLE EXPLANATION.
Thrik
I was kind of joking. I often say something I find very good is the best of any given year, including films. It's definitely in my top few favourites of the year, though.
