curman Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I just recently built my other PC Heres the specs: A8V Deluxe Motherboard AMD 64 3,500+ CPU chip 160gb hard-drive by Seagate 512mb stick by Corsair (I'm getting another stick soon) And 125watt power supply I just installed Battlefield 1942, got the latest patch, I got on for about 10 minutes of smooth game play and then it froze. I checked my CPU history it froze at the tempature of 51degrees, bad? I tried it a few more times, still froze, highest clock out so far was 55, What could be wrong? D: Quote

Duff-e Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 nah...heat really isnt that bad for most modern processors....only if you start fucking with the voltages most chips made ~1 yr just shut down from heat yea its most likely your PSU....and a 300-350w will do you just fine as long as you buy a quality brand that has failsafe overheating protection (ie an of the higher quality antecs, fortron etc) DONT cheap out on a power supply....3 of the last 10 computers i fixed had dead powersupplies and all were generic $20 400 watt brands.
