JamesL
Not sure if this is an improvement or not I'll stop now, my point is made I think. And people diss Steam ...
e-freak
Funny you connected steam, hellgate and EA-DLM because it so happens that I met Bill Roper at Games Convention 07 and asked him for chance Hellgate to hit Steam and he told me "Digital Distributition all the way but not Steam- we have a better tool in the line"
dux
I doubt there is or will be a better tool than steam for a fair few years?
JamesL
Gah its a catalogue of errors. I now get "You do not have space to install this game" on a drive that has 114g of space on it. I am about to defenestrate my PC and my girlfriend is looking kinda scared. JamesL
Figured out part of my problems. The archives EA download manager downloads to install the game from are single files similar to Steam's gcfs. Now if you are downloading the cache to a drive formatted to fat32 (I was puling down to a large external drive) fat32 does not allow single files larger than 4g (32 bit) so the download manager would die as soon as the file reached this size. Talk about a fundamental programming f*ckup.

m8nkey
Although I've experienced my fair share of problems with Steam, I actually like it. EA download manager truely does suck balls. Download speed was a joke and I have no idea where the fuck it put the archive. My computer's bloated with crap and in need of a reformat and don't want to re-download it. As far as HGL goes, I haven't played it a great deal. I think the classes and combat seem cool but the heavy instancing sux and the environments get monotonous quick. No Australian servers either.
