-HP-
I had no idea where to post this so, I guess the Engine Discussion is ok. Anyways, I opened a channel on stage6, where I'm uploading the official Video Tutorials that comes with the collectors edition. I'm not sure if uploading this videos is legal, but what I am sure, is that all the information should be free! knowledge is power, and belongs to the people. This videos are for learning porpouses only, and I take no credit whatsoever for they're content, I'm simply contributing to the Level Design and Moding scene. PS. For now this channel only has the official video tutorials, but maybe in the future we'll have some costum made tutorials, so I'm acepting admins to upload video tutorials. It would be great having it all organized in one place. Enjoy http://www.stage6.com/Unreal-Engine-3---Video-Tutorials

PogoP
Oh man, I just bought the Collector's Edition just for these videos... What a waste of money! Surely that's illegal? :s

Method
[HP]: Thanks. I don't work with UE3, but it's interesting to hear none the less. Is there anything more generic, that could be applied for other engines? Perhaps some videos on layout planning, texturing and lighting? -Method
static07
video's not that I know of but Hourences wrote a good book on those things. http://www.hourences.com/book
-HP-
Method , I'm afraid this videos are pretty much specific to Unreal Engine 3 and It's editor, and not about the topologies of level design.
Method
static07: I know of that book. Thanks. [HP]: Are there any videos say on creating hard surface textures or normal maps? -Method
-HP-
Yes, there is a whole section dedicated to materials! Btw, I don't know if you know it, but there's this great site with lots of video tutorials, called 3dbuzz.com. here register there and take a look at all the sections: http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/sv_dl_tr.php. On the Unreal Engine 2.0 sections, there are a couple of videos covering texture painting and and 3dsmax -> UE2 work flow. (both modeling and texturing) http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/sv_dl_list.php?c=

Warby
ah good I was cursing I didn't check the contents of the collectors edition and just bought the regular one. And later found out about the videos.... a month ago when all the HYPED games came out at once i made the budgeting decision never to by a collectors edition or something ever again because there is usually never anything on there that i care about (dvd movies are different) but when i realized ut3 ce came with 10 hours of tutorials i got really mad at myself ... but maybe its for the best since i am not just always short on money but also short on time and ue3 is not SOO different from ue2 as one might think ! so i saved myself another 10 hours there ! Neil Squibb
Even though I can get these videos for free here I'm still going to buy the collectors edition as any company that gives me dev tools for no extra cost deserves my money. Plus, I like tins.
-HP-
but when i realized ut3 ce came with 10 hours of tutorials i got really mad at myself ... Actually, It's near to 20 hours of video tutorials! @Psyshokiller, Yeah man, the company I work at is going through some problems with the ISP, so we don't have a connection to the internets for almost 2 weeks now...
