Looks great, a few things i noticed from the screens tho. The window in the large building looks abit wierd with the rounded edges, maybe it's just me but I had to say it :). The second thing is the tree's, they look really bright. Maybe you should try to darken the texture on them alittle.

I'm gonna try to give it a run later tonight.

ep2 content, is that legit?

I do not get it... Why can it be illegal ?

Many map mix stuff from HL, HL EP1, CSS and even Dark Messiah. No one ever complained about it, especially Valve.

What's special with EP2 content ?

What is wrong with you guys, siege was the crappest layout E.V.E.R close behind Assault

We've always had a good time playing Siege or Assault. The layouts provoke that the terrorists camp inside their base and the counter terrorists need to storm/infiltrate the place (I guess the titles "siege" and "assault" even imply that). That might not be everyone's cup of tea and in competitive play frustrating, both levels used to be great fun on LANs though!

Maps like these make me want to spend more time at css.

I loved siege in the older versions of the game, playing ct was really awsome and t had some cunning tactics to sneak up on cts all over the place too.

Looks like a very nice erework n source this, i'll try to get a test play in to see how it runs but i trust it'll run fine if you sticked to the original layout :)

played the map and woah i love it! quality release! :)

pro:

- great lighing

- superb, clean brushwork

- good translation of source map, worthy tribute to n0thing!

con:

- i'd maybe change the roll of the light_envoironment? somehow either the lighting or the skybox seems a tad out of place? changing skybox to something more evening/morning'ish would help?

- getting hosti's out of t's base can be hard with the shutting doors. do they open automatically for hosti's too?

- some parts of the layout feel smaller then the original siege

Siege was an a lot of fun, but it suffered greatly from the fact that the terrors had a huge advantage. One of the main issues was that it was too linear.

If you are remaking it, then I really think that such issues should be taken care of.

this is ofc one of the reasons competetive games didn't work on this map.

But i had the best time on assault, office, siege and other lesser played maps on public servers and just in mixes with friends.

If you know before hand the T's have an advantage of the cts, friendly games usually counter this by getting the more skilled players over to ct and the lesser players on T to try and balance the teams.

This dosn't work in clan games however so i guess you have a point.

It's just that imo cs isn't all about clans, it's a game, and you can always improvise teams to make maps play great, layout can be bad but the map imo was still awsome to play because of the amount of tactics you could pick from to use each round ,it kept it less boring and samey like maps like dust or dust2 where i personally just use 1 to 3 routes t get to the opposing team.

This ofc comming frm a public player who never really got the hang of clans and skills :P
