Hi all, I come back with my last map!

I don't know if you remember our old Counter Strike with its great map like survivor, predator,...and siege! Unfortunally these maps were never come on source and one day I wanted to create a remake of one of these maps and I choose cs_siege!

Now, I'm happy to present you : cs_siege 2007.

So after a big work on it and a lots of playtests you can now have the pleasure to play on an old map on Source!

Siege was nice layout/map, however I think you took it too directly, it's too rough and without all those props and such it still could be hl1 map, it's still good work but not what I call proper reinterpretation of old map. I especially talk about something like this area here: http://www.bidoulmarc.be/moroes_maps/cs ... 07_006.jpg . I'm not really sure if I can tall what this is.

What I would do is think of a real, reasonable location that could be used for such layout and only keep some similarities.

Yeah how about you don't tell people to shut-up for giving a respectful critism?

I agree with Buddy, you did an awesome job at remaking cs_siege. I think you stuck with the layout too much though. The map still seems within Half-Life 1 potentional, everything looks the same as the original cs_siege. What's the main difference of a CS:S map and CS map? Well, a CS:S remake usually takes the original map and expands on it. They add new parts, new paths, buildings, but all keeping the 'original' layout intact.

You could of done alot more with this is basically what I'm getting at. Especially the indoor section, it could of been a whole facility instead of a parking garage.

If you look at the official remakes, "yes" there are some changes but most of them are just cosmetic. There are, sometimes, few modifications to the original gameplay (look at Militia or Assault for instance) but it's never a big change.

If you transform completely the bunker part, it won't be cs_siege anymore.

Moroes choose to stick mostly to the original layout (and alter it a bit), I do not see anything wrong with that.
