clayman Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 if he gave THPS3 a 10, then he deserves to get fired. that's the WORST game in the THPS series, and everyone knows it. Atleast it's the worst of the 4 first games. I loved the Tokyo boardroom, haha that was awesome. Now I'm at Havana and it's soo much harder. But the squad commands are actually ok, they aren't really that stupid, and god, if you want them to follow you, they are right behind you, that was pretty amazing in the nightclub, how Lynch was behind me the entire time. ps we need to create the most sketchy fragile alliance, anyone have any idea about how fun it is to blow up the getaway car with 2 or 3 people inside of it? hahahahhahahahahaha just hit me up, lassepdsn and I'll play everyday this week. soo, we think he deserves it just because we feel thps3 didnt deserve a 10? and there is an issue if he gives kane n lynch a bad score? isnt that like, throwing pies back and forth? st0lve Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 It was kinda like a joke, since THPS3 is probably the game that THPS players hate the most. Quote
Mazy Posted December 4, 2007 Author Report Posted December 4, 2007 I just realized the irony of the thread title now Oh and if it wasn't bad already, it just got worse. http://kotaku.com/gaming/kane-%26-lynch ... 329529.php http://kotaku.com/gaming/eidos/did-we-g ... 329539.php Fuck I'm tired of Eidos. The brilliant part is that the quotes are from previews, and adding the stars made no sense at all, guess it was to enhance the "movielike" image. What a fucking mess... Quote
jaboo224 Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 apperantly for the pc version there is a very very bad bug where people using USB keyboards with software get 1 fps . Quote
clayman Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 lol @ Kotaku's new fix hahahahahha kickass Quote
dux Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 All of this doesn't fill me with hope for Deus Ex 3. IO should really get a better publisher in my opinion. You know, one that doesn't have its head up its arse Quote
e-freak Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 damn it - kane & lynch was a damn nice game and the mouth-to-mouth-"propaganda" made up for the scores imho until the moment Eidos f*cked around... Quote
Thrik Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Yes. I think it's incredibly unfortunate that the game has become known by pretty much everybody for this reason, and not because of the game itself. Now whenever you mention 'Kane & Lynch' a lot of people are going to immediately think of this scandal. What worries me even more for IO's sake is how this might impact the sequel, and whether or not it actually goes ahead. This is a PR disaster of the highest magnitude, and a franchise being associated with that is not what a marketing manager is going to see as a good thing. Certain LucasArts games have been cancelled much further into development for less thanks to marketing departments pushing for it. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 People should calm down a bit. There is no proof that this guy actualy was fired for that reason. Also about the stars thing. I checked it on their website and to me it looks clearly like a design element due to the fact that the quotes are in a 45 degree angle there. People must be really stupid if they think all websites/magzines use this as their rating system. Quote
Ginger Lord Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 http://www.metacritic.com/games/platfor ... nchdeadmen Seems to have taken a bit of a hit, looks suspect too. Quote
Thrik Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Actually there is, steppenwolf. One GameSpot editor anonymously got in touch with one of the large gaming sites today (I forget which one -- I saw it at work), and another editor has blatantly alluded to it on his GameSpot-hosted blog. Don't be naive. If this were all nonsense CNET and GameSpot would have outright denied it immediately. Heck, GameSpot has a 'rumour control' section that they regularly use to dispel industry rumours! This would have been on there immediately if 'bogus'. As it is they're almost certainly under NDA (or perhaps just threat of being fired) to not publicly disclose anything. Where did you think the rumour came from in the first place? It's not like there's an announcement button they press whenever someone loses their job at GameSpot. Someone close let the info out. Quote
^Slick Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 PCGamer UK gave Kane and Lynch a great 60%. Wewt @ PCGamer UK - calling it how it is. Quote
Erratic Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 PCGamer UK gave Kane and Lynch a great 60%. Wewt @ PCGamer UK - calling it how it is. Along with the rest of the media pretty much. Game scores really need to die, and fast. They just seem to satisfy the aggregate sites and the impatient at this point. They used to be fun, back when they didn't appear to have too much of an impact on a game. I remember reading through old PC Gamers and not running for the hills screaming when a game got a 70%. I just bought stuff cause I knew what developer it was coming from or a friend recommended it. Or if it simply looked cool. Sure, I was probably less informed back then, but I don't recall being let down anymore than I am these days with game purchases. If anything, I agree with games being too overhyped. Just seems like too much depends on, what is after all, a single person's opinion. These Guys seem to be the few with their head in the right place. But, you might actually have to, y'know, read, to take in any of their content. And I don't think publishers want anyone having to read to find out if their game is worth a purchase. God forbid there be any sort of mixed reaction. Grr, hate review scores :ssj: *this wasn't directed at you Slick, just the first part Quote
