Acumen Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 Hi guys, I thought I could share some models I made during the last week with you. The first models I did for this HL2-Mod Nothing spectacular, but oh well, it should work ingame, once they are skinned. Well and then I did something different (for me), I got into modelling some (possible) environment models that could be used in an RTS game, which I really enjoyed and today I will (at least try to) skin the small house. Taylor Swift Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 Ha ha, yeah. :-o Looks realistic! Quote
kleinluka Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 Nice stuff. Know what you should do ? UV them and post the UV Maps and models in the 2d/texturing forum and we'll have a skinning contest.!!!!! Quote
Acumen Posted September 23, 2004 Author Report Posted September 23, 2004 *cough* all of them ? That would be something people like me would get a lifetime achievement award for I got the small house done so far. ^^ but thanks for the comments guys Quote
FrieChamp Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 A skinning contest would be great, yea Quote
OL Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 i like the renders, what did you use? the rest looks good, nice and simple Quote
Acumen Posted September 23, 2004 Author Report Posted September 23, 2004 mh, which of the renders were you referring to ? The first ones are simple 3 point lighting-renders, done in max, well and colored meshes of course And the buildings are simple max materials with 40 % self illumination. Well, and I really started on a little skin. I'm rather new to this, so forgive my lack of skill so far. The only goal for me would be to finish this skin and then enjoy the rest of the night ^^ Skinmap: http://v091259.dd2110.kasserver.com/mod ... n_wip1.jpg Quote
The Postman Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 I just love little detailed models hehe. Only request? More use/disuse, mud, dirt etc on the skin Quote
IR Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 yeh what posty said hope you dont mind i took your flat and editted it alitle basically made the texture more interesting.. dirt/wear have a look Quote
The Postman Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 IR: don't highlight the edges of your broken sections. It makes them look soft and rounded. Instead use the pencil tool set on 20% using white, on a new layer scribble the edges lightly and set that layer to exclusion. Vary the opacity to taste. Adds a much more broken and crisp edge. Quote
