i just rock at gaming i guess ;D i agree on the core levels being the best by far, or well, the least frustrating in that sense. plus it was a nice breather from the sneaking and fighting... easy to get lost there as well

Well, I admit I did downloaded a pirated copy of Crysis, but after seeing how good this game is, I decided to buy it! Crytek definitely deserves it!

Edit: Man, the VTOL mission just SUCKED ass, it was going so well, the game was doing real great, and than... this...

The controls sucks, It's almost impossible to fly this shit, the enemies are a pain in the ass to die, I died more times in this mission than in the entire fucking game!

hmm I wanted to wait for vista for DX10 (I had it but the friggen oem edition gave up on me)

Anyway I can't play for longer then 1 hour, the motion blur is overdone or something, because I get dizzy just from looking around and never had this problem in any previoes games.

Also the wind effect on vegetation seems a bit overdone.

Also the button to cycle trough the suit powers seems to malfunction as it always stops at strentgh?

The mouse selection is neat but to slow for my taste the 6-0 keys could probebly be used I got to check the keyconfig if I can bind em

The game makes more sence (with the nanosuit) then I tought, and ofcourse the 2020 date helps a bit too ;-P

seriusly it sucked horribly, i really went inside in the game... i beilived like wow now; it is going to be something cool when... this... SHIZnit !!!.. why did they made it?? I started to like the game already when i met that girl in elevator ok it was nice..

and now i am VERY dissapointed on the creators of the game.. EVEN WITH CHEATS (i do) it is impossible to kill the ships. hahahha.. eh eh eh .. uhhh

It is one of the biggest failures in a video games i have ever seen.. I thinked like what? It is like 8 alien ships out there and i do not even got any experience with flying the ship man.. and you know.. after 7 crashes i just shut down the game....

NOW REVIEW;

1. bad stuff about game

- chineese forces tell the same, they repeat the words - i don't like it

- rescuing prophet.. he is an idiot!!.. when the fire was close to him, he died because he was on it. Was too near it or something but he could not do anything, he had nothing smart in his mind.. I think i had to take the responsibility.. the prophet mission sucked crysis..

- chineese forces are too strong, too many, too stupid, spawning right behind you, coming out of water, running out of the woods.. you know.. it feels like they are inside you. I shot them 5 times with rocket launcher they did not died.. that is the truth.

- glass in car is annoying, when i see holes in glass i can not see where i drive on.. then i need to get out of the car and shot down all the glass to make it dissapear!

- what more? uhm.. uhmm.. I think that the problem is with the weapon sounds.. some sounds is ok but some i do not like them.

- the biggest fail controlling the super plane or whatever it iz.

- hdr. my eyes hurt! i had to turn highher gamma to make it stop.....

- too ... little blood.. yes..

- no KNIFE.. why did u forgot that?

2. the good of the game:

- graphics.. very good done

- big maps

- girls! in the game

- weapons, oh love them the look is nice

- Springting, jumping.. maximum speed thing is well done

- the red fire canisters is fun, the decal and junk stuff is fun

- explosions !!! YEAH it is sick

- the alien level interesting very inspiring.. but little confusing

- the tank mission lot of fun blowing tanks

- the harbour mission fun

- the mine, excavation point mission if well done

well it is a FUN GAME with heavy graphics but it.. suckwd because someone forgot to do it right.

that is it. half life is still the best. say what u want half life knows it.

i think crysis is a mix of doom3 and battlefield 2.

Just completed crysis! It's an awesome game but damn it requires alot of juice from the gfx card. I bough a 8800gt just to play crysis but still that wasn't enough! It laggs so bad in dx10, had to play in dx9. Guess i didn't have to install vista after all

But the visuals are simply amazing, sometimes it feels like you are playing a movie instead of a game! The levels inside the alien "ship" were simply amazing at points.

Great game tough, will definitely have to give it another runthrough sometime when i get a new gfx >_<

Going to try out the multiplayer now!

There is no computer this game doesn't lag on when maxed out, D3. It's more a case of how playable you can get it.

actually for me in the last level it dropped below 10 fps on a 3ghz quad core with 3 gigs of ram and a geforce 8800 GTX on lowest settings O_o

and it didn't even look that good ( probably due to the low settings)

Yeah i noticed whenever you pear over the ocean, massive frame drops.

It's the same with the huge dome. Looking away from it you get decent fps and it's playable but if you turn around and look in the direction of the dome it drops instantly and becomes almost unplayable.

I'm at the bossfight but I can't finnish it, the tactical gun won't lock in.

I played the ending (?) at the carrier at least 20 times already that I got bored of it. After I locked and fired the gun I died and it doesn't work anymore even after savegames, I now probebly have to replay the entire level.

Since the world freezed over I switched to easy to have some fun and died more then I can count.

Compare that to other games I play oin normal like the HL series what I can play with only a few stupid deaths that are usually my own fault.

Also the player was given the tactical gun to early, why give it to him when he has to fight the big exosuit or what was it called and not being able to fucking use it. Its only confusing.

The player should have sent in to retieve the weapon after the fight on deck for what I suspect is the big final.

I also don't feel like a special forces guy, my aim sways more then a 3rd world country rebel, while I am in this neat nano suit that enhances my muscles?

The only effective way I found to deal with enemy's is to cloack, pick one off, cloack again and repeat until you wiped em all.

It aslo doesn't seem to run smooth on my quadcore with 8800gtx in automatic settings. (some serioes hangups at times)

Well I wish I could set this 19 inch monitor in a lower resolution but those samsung fuckers decided they only needed to support 1 widescreen resolution

But I will probebly play the game again when I got a new PC :-)

So overall its a good game but it feels like it could have some longer testing to tweak the gameplay more :-P

*edit* Also want to add that these end bosses seem to wait for their destruction, in the level with the river it just sits there in front of you taking damage withouth really doing anything of importance, and once you get out it finnaly advances, kinda like its a retared alien

(same goes for the fight on deck)

yeah that tactical nuke grenade launcher thing in the last level got me furious ... god that level was bad

the nuke:

-its realy heavy which made you walk really slow something i always hate in games ... and you cant even through it away D:

-the way they introduce it is so "pathetic-Hollywood-style-writing" you know with 100% certainty that you will pick it up and use it eventually ... why didn't the game let me steal it the first time than i wouldn't have to backtrack huge parts of the level ( the worst level of the game )

- it doest tell you how to use it D: ... i tryied to shoot down the tripod ( sorry quadpod) and it constantly bitches about not having locked on so i switch to my binoculars to lock on and i try everything not having any idea that some scripted event will happen eventually that enables me to use it

the level:

- the frame rate was horrible all the way through despite super low settings and MEGA horse power machine at the ioi office

- i ran through a save checkpoint during a lag and when i died and respawned i was stuck with half my body in the ground no way of recovery i had to play the worst level of the game from the beginning

- the entire level and how all the life in it was totally scripted reminded me of that space-mother-ship mission from quake 4 ... its not a good thing to remind me of the suckyiest level of a sucky game

-the sequence where you are supposed to jump onto the plain

... they are all like screaming how you are supposed to hurry up and the music is dramatic and shit ... but unfortunately i have that nuke shit thing that slows me down so i am like ok easy just use MAXIMUM speed right ? well i ran out of power 3 times before i reached the plain totally anti climatic... add to that, that call of duty 4 which i played a week earlier did basically the exact same sequence just there it worked and was AWESOME .

-fighting aliens doesn't feel right throughout the game since they have way too much health and there is no visible feedback that you hit em or even made the slightest bit of damage and this level with the slow running and the low frame rate made the fighting of the aliens an extra large torture... which lead my directly to:

-THE SUCK THAT TAKES THE CAKE:

i had no clue how to beat the quadpod ... because of the none existing damage feedback from fighting the aliens and me being TEASED by having the nuke launcher and it not working. all weapons don't seam to make any effeckt and the nuke doesnt work so what do i do ?!? after fiddling around for roughly an hour and numerous quick saves where i was just a split second away form dieing later i decided to go to "youtube" because i remembered seeing a video where somebody shoots down that thing and i want to see what weapon the player in the vid uses and where he aims: after seeing he just shoots it down with regular rocket launchers i ALT TAB back into the game only to be greeted by a fucking BLUE screen

ONE REBOOT LATER I SAW THE GAME CRASH HAD CORRUPTED MY FIREFOX BOOKMARKS ... ALL GONE ! when was the last time where a game crash damages more than the game ???

i know this sounds very troll-ish but don't take it personal frie

i think the rest of the game was really cool and your level was hands down the prettiest ( yeah i am not into jungles ^^ )
