Quakis Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 None. No games for either console take my interest. Neither does PC stuff right now either. Quote
Sindwiller Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 None. No TV, no interest, no money Quote

Bluestrike Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 None, spend alot on my PC and I would not mutch have the TV availble for it anyway. There really isn't any interesting on them what makes me want to buy one anyway or I probebly would have :-P Quote
Taylor Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 I hit 360 and PS3 but that’s a bit of a lie really. I’m poised to get a 360 but actually haven’t yet, since the Christmas and early 2008 line-up actually looks stronger for Sony from my perspective right now. Quote
Izuno Posted November 9, 2007 Author Report Posted November 9, 2007 My cousin who only owns a Wii and is a total Mac guy (only PC game he plays now is WoW...after being a loyal HL and etc fan for years... ) has decided to get a PS3 this winter because he wants 1080p and HDMI support with Blu-Ray. All the games he's interested in so far, Mercenaries 2 and Madden 08 and the Orange Box, are/will be on both 360 and PS3. So he's mainly a media technology geek and not really a gamer anymore and he's going to be in the Wii + PS3 category by year end. So has the media capabilities of the consoles impacted your buying choice? I think Fletch already stated his position on the matter...curious what others of you think. Quote
Algor Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Things that interest me in PS3: +++Backwards compatible list is huge, I've never owned a PS2 so I have lots of catching up. +Blu-Ray player to watch some 1080p on my new TV. +DVD player upscales DVD's, I don't have a DVD player (currently using my 360) +Free internet play and open network Things that don't interest me in PS3: ---Backwards compatability is limited/going away (if I can't find an older model that still has BC I may not get a PS3) -I don't really want to support HDDVD or BluRay in this format war -No games currently out that make me say "I want a PS3 for Game X" -Not worth $600 now, and won't seem to be worth it for a long time. Tailgunner Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Wii only. And im really enjoying it, some really nice games coming now. And Im still having fun with Twighlight princess, soon metroid corruption. And also Ill never get bored of all the great GC games, and the virtual console is just awesome Quote
Taylor Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 PS3 doesn't really have any "I must get a PS3 for this" games, but there’s a lot of "I'd get that if I owned one" titles. It really needs to get some decent exclusives out the door, the 360 still isn’t that hot in that department (for my tastes) and it’s been out for ages. It really needs things like Final Fantasy to hit. I think the PS3 would be a whole lot better if the EU and USA Playstation Store was remotely as strong as the Japanese one. I made a fake account yesterday and I was livid! It literally contains twenty times the content of the EU one, it has so many demos and games they split things up by genre, with entire sections devoted to games like Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4 (movies, wallpapers, etc). It even has demos for American games that are entirely in English, that only show up on the EU store as purchasable full-games! Quote
Ginger Lord Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 So has the media capabilities of the consoles impacted your buying choice? No. I don't have anywhere near the the amount of money needed to buy a HDTV, let alone a PS3/Xbox w/ HD-DVD player. Then buying all my dvd's again just so they look better.... Quote
Sentura Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 well you can say that if the 360 had hddvd support built in i would have gone for one of those, but seeing as you have to buy an addon for that, and a huge bulky one at that, it's no thanks from me. while i dont support blu ray really (i have this weird feeling saying it wont be the next big thing), i do want the ps3 because of a few games out already, and some coming. i dont doubt now that at some point the ps3 will be this generations ps2.
