MrH2o
There is this dude who right now (if they havent caught/killed him) is inside a school in Finland andhave shoot 4 and killed 1 (prolly more as story unfolds) Here are his youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/Sturmgeist89 and by looking at that I realise that they hardly coulden't got any clearer messages (Im refering to Jokela High School Massacre - 11/7/2007) There is alot of videos of his including Columbine, various nazis and offcourse the tribute to Hitman 45, so lets just sit back and watch the whole "games made him do it" discussion in paper in the comming days Sorry for sounding so ironic when human lifes are lost, my condolences to everyone affected. Zyn
It's a very sad day for Scandinavia. And as always; games didn't do it, a severe mental instability did it.

MrH2o
Offcourse games didn't do it, but did they bring up the thoughts?
Pericolos0
I dont think so, the guy was obsessed with weapons and violence, thats what made him think hitman was the best game of all time. He didn't become obsessed with it because of playing hitman.
Grin
At least 8 dead, the shooter shot himself in the head. http://www.appelsiini.org/tuusula_mirror/ The page has collected some of the info on the guy.
Thrik
FFS. More young lives extinguished by another mental fuck who seems to like the idea of going around a school and indiscriminately murdering people. What is it about schools and colleges that nutters want to go around killing anyone they see? I seem to hear about it happening in schools and colleges more than I hear about it happening in, say, shopping malls and stuff. Horrible stuff, and genuinely frightening knowing some psychotic fuck in your own kids' school could end up doing it. Good job guns are relatively difficult to come by in the UK, especially for kids. dissonance
Part of me is glad to know that it's not only the American education system that's turning children in to this, and part of me is wondering if it's just a flaw with the entirety of humanity. This fucking sucks.
Nexus
bullshit, media is just overhyping this shit, games and school shooting is just a paradox. this guy had some serius brain disorder incapabilities or issues, he had used some site where he had his own plans and wrote down his ideas in documents of word. As someone already posted it in this thread, i just took a look over the site and i found it disgusting, he was mentally disfunctional (you could see the fact by reading his text). blame it on the head, and my personal opinion and view on this case is that, someone or whatever, should make a new rule: that when you starts in a school the doctor inspects and analyzes you and look if u have any health problems, if they however find any they should send you to threatment, and as you see it would help because he wouldn't be at the school. I blame it on parents, i do. Seriusly, this is just another black day
MrH2o
I believe that games CAN infact have something to do with it, but so can movies, music, tv-shows and even books. I mean it's easier to get the thoughts after playing it, seeing it, hearing it or even reading it but don't get me wrong, I also believe there is a huge difference in blaming games as the cause of practically raising the kid, buying the gun and pulling the trigger, there have after all been mass murderers and psycho's long before games. So as a inspiration, sure we can blame games, but then don't forget that any other seeing, hearing or reading experience whenever or not it's theater, movies, music, street violence ya basically anything can also be held for this. And to make the formula complete, mix it all with one not so very healthy brain.

Thrik
Good job guns are relatively difficult to come by in the UK, especially for kids. Not really, especially in London. I meant 'relatively' as in to, say, Finland and America. In case you weren't aware both countries have more civilian gun owners than almost every other country in the world, which makes it significantly easier to get your hands on one than it is in the UK where we have pretty much the tightest gun law/control in the world. It may be easy if you know the right people in London and a few other key parts of the UK, but by and large it's much less simple a task than it is in other countries. The gun used by the psycho this thread is about was probably stolen from a relative of the shooter rather than something he sought out and bought from an arms dealer. I'm going to assume it's no coincidence that the majority of these school shootings by very young people tend to occur in countries with higher general gun availability to the population. Probably makes it easier for such thoughts to infect your mind if you know your dad/granddad/etc always has a gun lying around the house.
